McMahon The Franklin Lakes Board of Education recently recognized an honor received by one of the district’s elementary school teachers and paid tribute to several retiring teachers and outgoing members of the Franklin Lakes Education Foundation. The elementary school teacher, Alexandra Neithardt, was recognized by Superintendent Frank Romano for being named an Outstanding Star Teacher by the Bergen Record on the nomination of student Chris Cording. The youth wrote, “Thanks to Ms. Neithardt I would like to be an astronaut. She makes each of us feel special every day.” “On behalf of the Franklin Lakes Board of Education and the administration and school community, it is my pleasure and Superintendent Frank Romano, BOE President Kathie Schwartz, Outstanding Star Teacher recipient Alexandra Neithardt, and Woodside Avenue School Principal Dominick Rotante. privilege to recognize you as one of only four Bergen County recipients of the Star Teacher Award,” Romano stated in a letter to Neithardt. “Congratulations on this wonderful honor. As an educator, you know that there is nothing more gratifying than having a positive impact on your students and clearly you have that impact. Your caring way, dedicated approach, and exemplary teaching have earned you this place among the best and I commend you on this well-deserved recognition. My sincere congratulations to you for receiving the Out- standing Star Teacher Award.
