VBS coming to township This summer, four churches in the Wyckoff-area will host a week-long Sky Vacation Bible School. Each week will be held on a different church campus. Sky VBS, which is open to children in pre-K through grade six, will runs daily from 9 a.m. to noon. Pascack Bible Church, 181 Piermont Avenue in Hillsdale, will host the first week of camp: June 25 through 29. Register online at hillsdalevbs.com or by calling (201) 6662353. This is a free program. From July 16 to 20, Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff will be the host. To register, visit wyckoffreformed.org and click on the “children” tab. The cost is $25 for church members, and $35 non-members. Cornerstone Christian Church, 485 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff, will sponsor the July 30 through Aug. 2 session. Register at cornerstonenj.org by June 24. This is a free program. The final week, Aug. 13 through 17, will be held at Powerhouse Christian Church, 500 West Main Street in Wyckoff. Library hosts programs for teens “Own the Night” is the theme for teens this summer at the Wyckoff Library. Wyckoff students who will be entering grades seven through 10 are welcome to join this reading program. Participants are encouraged to read as much as they want and will be eligible to receive prizes. Registration begins June 25 and runs through Aug. 24. Two book discussion groups will also be held this summer. Talk it Up is for teens in grades seven through nine; and Speak Out is for those in grades 10 through 12. Both groups will run for five consecutive weeks beginning July 11. Registration for the discussion groups will begin June 25. The library is also offering opportunities for teens to express themselves creatively. Programs will include origami with Linda Bogan, watercolor painting with Wyckoff resident Rosemarie Crabtree, a song writing seminar, a mind reading magic show, and more. Jeffers receives scholarship Wyckoff resident Brittany Jeffers recently received a scholarship from The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Educational Foundation. Jeffers’ award was sponsored by RealSource Association of REALTORS® in memory of Jean Bunfield. Jeffers was one of 40 New Jersey students who were honored for their achievements. The scholarships, which range from $1,000 to 2,500, are for students to use to further their education. The scholarships are awarded to members of the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® or relatives of NJAR® living in New Jersey who will be attending an undergraduate four-year institution, students currently enrolled in undergraduate four-year institutions, and students pursuing graduate studies in real estate or related fields. Students are selected on academic achievement, financial need, interest in real estate endeavors, and contributions to family, school, and community. Support group for caregivers set Christian Health Care Adult Day Services at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff will host a Caregiver Support Group at noon Tuesday, July 3. The meeting is open to the public and no reservations are necessary. The meeting, which will be held at CHCC, 301 Sicomac Avenue in Wyckoff, provides support to people caring for a loved one suffering from dementia and other medical problems relating to aging. Meetings are facilitated by Kerri Sherer, LSW. In addition, information about area social services will be available, and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions or vent their feelings and share knowledge with others facing similar issues. Summer Reading Program slated The Wyckoff Public Library invites children to participate in “Dream Big: Read” this summer. Readers from the “read to me” age through sixth grade may join the club. Registration will begin Monday, June 25. Special events will include programs about magic and music, art workshops, games, food, a portable planetarium, and more. Participants are encouraged to start their summer reading and choose prizes from the library treasure chest. On June 28, Brian Richards will offer a program of world-class magic mixed with comedy at 2 p.m. in the Shotmeyer Room. The library is located at 200 Woodland Avenue in Wyckoff. Register for upcoming programs Grace Nursery School, located at 555 Russell Avenue in Wyckoff, is currently registering students for its summer camp and fall nursery school programs. Grace’s “Summer Full of Fun” summer camp offers eight weeks of programming for children. Choose two-, three-, and five-day camps on any weeks. Camp runs June 25 through Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. Used books wanted The Friends of the Wyckoff Public Library will accept donations of used books for a two-week period through June 29 and then every three months thereafter. Books should be gently used and in good condition. No school textbooks or other outdated reference books can be accepted. Donations may be brought to the lower level lobby of the library at 200 Woodland Avenue. The lower level may be accessed via the stairs or by elevator. Please do not leave books in the main entrance lobby or outside. The Friends Book Sale will begin with a Beach Book Specials sale on July 2.
