The Midland Park Lions Club, formed in 1951, is seeking new members to swell its ranks of local residents and business people who are dedicated to the Lions motto, “We serve.” Over the years, the Midland Park Lions Club has supported community-based organizations such as the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation and the Midland Park Ambulance Corps, donated large-print books to the Midland Park Library, provided food baskets and gift cards to Northwest Bergen Social Services in Ridgewood, and conducted an annual eyesight mailing and a Pancake Breakfast. The group also maintains a cabin at Camp Marcella, a summer camp sponsored by Lions International, for blind and/or visually impaired children. Upcoming club events include a Food Collection Drive on Feb. 18 and 19. The Lions will be stationed at the Midland Park A&P Supermarket at 137 Lake Street and will collect non-perishable food items for the Center for Food Action in Mahwah from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On March 25, the club will host its annual Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Midland Park Fire House, 45 Witte Drive.
