Religious Notes December 19, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • Page 23 Rev. Andrew Kadzban has answered a call to serve as associate pastor of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, joining Senior Pastor James O’Connell. “Andy comes with a lot of fresh ideas about worship, discipleship, and youth. All three are his passion, so we look forward to a long and wonderful ministry with him here at Wyckoff Reformed Church,” said Rev. O’Connell. Wyckoff Reformed Church welcomes associate pastor Following the spring departure of Associate Pastor William “Billy” Norden, who became senior pastor of The Community Church in Ada, Michigan, Rev. Kadzban was unanimously endorsed by the Consistory to join the Wyckoff Reformed Church ministry. “From the very beginning, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had been uniquely prepared for this position, and that this position was shaped for me,” Rev. Kadzban said. “It allows me to pursue passions for preaching, for creative expressions of worship, and for discipleship – both of the youth and the rest of the church – and yet, as a young pastor, it also places me underneath the direction and experience of someone like Jim O’Connell. “I could tell early on that Wyckoff Reformed Church was a healthy and vibrant congregation, and that the Genesis service in particular was surrounded by great energy and an openness to explore with creativity what a life lived in worship of the Triune God can look like. This is very exciting and I wanted to be a part of it!” The Genesis service, held in the Heneveld Hall education building on the Wyckoff Reformed Church campus at 580 Wyckoff Avenue, offers a more casual setting for worship each Sunday morning. Rev. Kadzban will preach three Sundays of each month at the 9:30 a.m. Genesis service and one Sunday in the traditional historic sanctuary of the church at 9:30 and again at 11 a.m. Rev. Kadzban graduated from Western Theological Seminary in May. He previously attended Hope College in Michigan. “Pastor Dave Bach and I also attended Hope College and Western Theological Seminary, so Andy follows a strong tradition of pastors at Wyckoff Reformed Church,” Rev. O’Connell noted. “With his three passions in ministry being worship, discipleship, and youth, Andy will have an opportunity to exercise those here as he grows with us and we with him. And, we celebrate Andy’s wife, Samantha, and he becoming part of the congregation in a deep and significant way.” As one member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church Search Committee commented, Reverend Andrew Kadzban “Andy will continue the growth and prosperity of Wyckoff Reformed Church in both the Genesis and Traditional services. He will inspire the youth, young adults, and light a spark within young families, all while fostering relationships with our older congregants. Andy has a dynamic preaching style, something we at Wyckoff Reformed Church value greatly, and is deeply theological. He is genuine and kind. He and his wife, Sam, who is spirited and lovable, are both outwardly focused and are already brainstorming new ways to reach out to the community at large.” For more information, visit www.wyckoffreformed.org or call (201) 891-1782.
