She was a communicant of Saint Barnabas Church in Bayville, and Holy Family in Saint Petersburg, Florida. She was a member of the women’s auxiliary for the Kearny Police Department, a member of the senior citizens’ group and of the Historical Society of Ocean Gate, and she volunteered at the Ocean County Library in Toms River. She is survived by her husband Basil, her children Basil, Patricia, Eileen, and Robert, two grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Jeanne Agnes Clare, nee Ebert, of Franklin Lakes died Dec. 8. She was 84. She had been a nurse at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Passaic. She is survived by her husband Thomas, her children Thomas J. Clare Jr., Jeanne Mary Macfarlane, Robert Clare, Suzanne Troast, Joseph Clare, and Jamie Clare, 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and her brothers Jack Ebert of West Virginia, and Edward Ebert of Pennsylvania. Etterbeek of Wyckoff died Dec. 11. She was 62. She graduated from the Saint Barnabas Medical Center School of Nursing in 1969. In addition to raising her children, she worked part time at several local retail establishments, including V&S Carpets, The Wicker Porch, and Barefoot Carpet, all in Midland Park, and at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She is survived by her husband David H. Etterbeek, her children Kristen N. DeMarco and David B. Etterbeek, three grandchildren, and her mother Hummy Klopman. Miller, nee Op’t Hof of North Haledon, formerly of Wyckoff, died Dec. 8. She was 87. She worked in various capacities at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff for 31 years, finishing her career as medical records director before her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff, where she was a member of the church choir, former Sunday school teacher, member and director of the women’s choral group, and former director of the children’s choir. Salvatore Minardi of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Paterson, died Dec. 13. He was 84. He was a graduate of Central High School in Paterson and attended Newark College of Engineering. Later, he and his brothers Thomas and Joseph became the owners of The Minardi Baking Company, which was established by his parents the late Giovanni (John) Minardi and Nunziata Alessandrello Minardi. The bakery was a Paterson landmark for 84 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Paterson, and a member of The Fidelians of America, North Haledon chapter. He is survived by his children John Minardi and Regina Salemme, five grandchildren, and his siblings of Rose Mastroianni, Thomas Minardi, and Joseph Minardi. Genevieve Murphy of Nashua, New Hampshire, formerly of Midland Park, died Dec. 10. She was 95. Before retiring, she was a bookkeeper for Ridgewood Paint and Wallpaper in Ridgewood. Along with her husband, she was a founding member of the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. She is survived by her son Thomas Murphy of Brazil, her grandchildren Patrick Murphy and Michelle Murphy Koza, and her sisters Leona Dugan and Elizabeth Sutton. Sharon Markert Prescott of North Haledon, formerly of Franklin Lakes, Cundy’s Harbor, Maine, Stockholm, and Passaic, died Dec. 9. She was 61. She attended Passaic High School, and Paterson State and Montclair State colleges. She sang with Richard Sperlazzi at the Stagger Inn in Clifton in the 1970s. She worked for J.L. Prescott Company in Passaic, where she was a member the softball and bowling teams. She was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgewood. She is survived by her sister Carol and her husband Leon Greff, her niece and goddaughter Mary Eva, and her caregiver and friend Emily Cicakova. Colonel David Stokes Quackenbush of Allendale died Dec. 11. He was 87. He received a BFA and an MFA from Yale University. He attended the Army War College in Washington, D.C. in 1969. He was assigned as staff officer in headquarters, Chief of Staff, Air Intelligence at the Pentagon for 18 years. He developed a system for the computerized collection of intelligence data. He retired from the military in 1976 with 34 years of combined army and air force service. He earned five campaign stars in the ETO, the Air Force Accommodation Award, and an Honorary Citizenship of Communale d’Olne, Belgium. He was employed as publication coordinator and graphic designer in the medical research department at Lederle Laboratories, Division of American Cyanamid Company in Pearl River, New York. He was an eleventh generation descendant of Pieter Quackenbush, who came to New Netherland from Oestgeest, Holland in 1653, on the ship “Graft.” He was the son of the late Edwin Quackenbush and Anna Sewell Stokes. He was a life member of the Holland Society of New York, and a member of the Allendale Shade Tree Commission. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Whalen Quackenbush. Phil Julius Weimar Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Wyckoff, died Nov. 11. He was 82. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He attended Ramsey High School, where he played football. Before retiring, he was a supervisor at General Motors. He was a deacon at Sharon Woods Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Frances, his children Gary, Janice Skinner, Glenn, and Steve, 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his siblings Arlene Hoffman, Doris Ryan, Ruth Haigh, Donna Halvorsen, Phyllis, Richard and David Weimar, and Barbara Fennell. Max Elliott George Winn of Mahwah died Dec. 10. He was 10 days old. He is survived by his parents Bryan and Amanda (Gonzales) Winn of Mahwah, his brother Jackson Winn, and his grandparents John and Nora Winn of Saddle River, and Enrico and Flordeliz Gonzalez of Franklin Lakes.
