Page 26 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • December 12, 2012 Township landmark memorialized in gingerbread Barbara Petruccelli, business administrator for the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce, created this gingerbread version of the Zabriskie House to be displayed at this year’s house tour. The Wyckoff landmark, which is formally known as the VanVoorhees-Quackenbush-Zabriskie House, is located at 421 Franklin Avenue. Built in 1730 and expanded in 1824, the house is the oldest home in Wyckoff. The Zabriskie House is one of the finest examples of American architecture in northern New Jersey. Antique-filed rooms reflect the Dutch colonial heritage of the region during the 18th and 19th centuries. In addition to being the home of the Van Voor Haze, Quackkenbush, and Zabriskie families, the structure was also used as village store, tavern, candy store, hotel, and ballroom.
