Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • August 8, 2012 Midland Park The Upper School of the Children’s Therapy Center in Midland Park will be getting new handicapped bathrooms thanks to a recent donation from Ridgewood Philanthropist David Bolger. In a surprise move, Bolger presented the center with a $65,000 contribution for the project during the annual “David F. Bolger Day,” celebrated on the second Thursday in each July. This year the school took advantage of the occasion to dedicate a newly-created sensory garden in his honor. Bolger’s gift will provide for renovation and construction of additional bathrooms in the Upper School, additional equipment needs, and enhancement to the curriculum at both the Midland Park school, located in the previous St. Thomas More School building at the Church of the Nativity, and the Lower School campus in Fair Lawn. The children need larger bathrooms than are presently available to accommodate their wheelchairs and their aides. According to Marvin Leiken, executive director of The Children’s Therapy Center, the monies will be utilized as well to continue to grow The Children’s Therapy Center programs and services. “David has been an incredible friend and benefactor to the children of the CTC. This most recent gift is evidence of how he understands what growing a program means and how committed he is to our children and their families,” Leiken said. The Children’s Therapy Center is a non-profit organization that provides educational and therapeutic services for children with developmental disabilities ages 18 months through 13 years old.
