Republican Club slates Beefsteak The Midland Park United Republican Club will sponsor a Beefsteak Dinner on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at the Midland Park Firehouse on Witte Drive. The event is being catered by Nightingale. Tickets are $40 per person. Attendees may bring their own beverages. All members of the community are welcome. Annual Rabies Clinic set The Midland Park Board of Health will hold its annual free Rabies Vaccination Clinic on Monday, May 14. Dogs on leashes will be vaccinated from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cats in carriers are welcome from 7:30 to 8 p.m. The clinic will be held in the Midland Park Municipal Building at 280 Godwin Avenue. Pets of area residents are welcome. Car Show sponsors and participants sought The Midland Park High School Interact Club is seeking sponsors and donations for its first Car Show and prize basket fundraiser. The show and fundraiser will be held May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school’s main parking lot at the front of the school at 250 Prospect Street. (Rain date: May 12.) The Interact Club will be joining other community organizations to help the Midland Park/Wyckoff Rotary Club sponsor a child in the national organization’s Gift of Life Program.
The Interact Club asks the community to contribute food and beverages for the students to sell to Car Show attendees. Sponsors will be recognized at the concession stand. Sponsorships are offered to individuals and businesses. The following sponsor levels are available: $100 for platinum, $75 for gold, and $50 for silver. Association reschedules meeting The Midland Park Softball Association has changed the date of its next meeting. Luncheon & Fashion Show set The Midland Park Valley Hospital Auxiliary’s 43rd Annual Luncheon, Fashion Show, and Special Auction will be held Tuesday, May 8 at the Brownstone in Paterson. Spring fashions will be presented by The Kurth Cottage Gift Shop at Valley Hospital. Andrea Delmont, store manager, has organized the presentation. Delmont logged more than 15 years of experience in merchandising before coming to the gift shop nearly 10 years ago. Fashions will be
modeled by members of the Midland Park Branch. The luncheon, which will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a cash bar, includes a four course meal. Magic comes to Midland Park Midland Park Recreation will host a Magic Show with Sean Burke and Company on Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m. The show will be held in the high school auditorium located at 250 Prospect Street. National Day of Prayer planned The 61st National Day of Prayer will be observed in Midland Park on Thursday, May 3 at the Midland Park Firehouse on Witte Drive. She suggested center clients use the park and ride lot and then are bused from there in the county jitney. She also suggested they could make sure their on-site parking is maximized. The center has a small lot adjacent to the building and a separate lot across the street. Vandenberg is also recommending a new section unrelated to the senior center problem, stating that “No person shall park a vehicle upon any roadway for the principal purposes of: 1) displaying such vehicle for sale; 2) washing, greasing or repairing such vehicle, except for repairs necessitated by an emergency; and 3) peddling merchandise. Borough Clerk/Administrator Addie Hanna said the existing ordinance would have to be changed for the proposed changes to be enforceable. Vandenberg will be asked to further review the issue.
