The event will also feature a dog show, a magician, clowns, and live music. Fireworks at dusk will conclude this community-wide celebration. This event is being held in conjunction with the Recreation Committee. Pasta Dinner planned for Mahwah Day The Ramapo Reformed Church at 100 Island Road will hold its annual Pasta Dinner on Mahwah Day, Saturday, Sept. 24. Seating will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m., in between the Mahwah Day festivities and the fireworks. Dinner will include stuffed shells, bread and butter, beverage, and dessert. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12. A family ticket for $25 for four adults is also available. Men’s basketball, volleyball programs offered Mahwah Recreation will sponsor a free men’s basketball league that will meet on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 13. Players will gather from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Ramapo Ridge School, 150 Ridge Road. The program is open to Mahwah residents only. “Pick-up” games will be played in the gym. If the school is closed for any reason, the games will be cancelled. Beginning in November, an adult men’s volleyball program will meet on the first Tuesday of each month. This program will take the place of basketball on those weeks; the time and place will remain the same. No registration is necessary, but participants must bring proof of Mahwah residency. Cub Scouts welcome new members Mahwah Cub Scout Pack 258 invites boys in grades one through five to learn about Scouting and the pack’s plans for the upcoming year on Friday, Sept. 16.
