ary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant Jen Edelson of Ho-Ho-Kus believes the company she represents is the greatest company because it produces amazing products that allow women to look and feel their best and provides a way for women to earn extra money. “I make my own hours, I’m my own boss, and the product sells itself,” Jen notes. When her family recently moved, Jen was able to take time away from her work. “There are no quotas or territories. I can work when I like.” Mary Kay, which will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2013, has changed to suit the needs of modern women. Jen explains that today’s Mary Kay cosmetics are cutting-edge products with a high-end look, but are available at half the price of other national brands. Jen Edelson “All the colors are very trendy,” Jen adds. “When you see the new fall colors in a magazine, all of those same colors are also in the Mary Kay catalogue.” She adds that there is a Mary Kay product to suit every type of skin and to correct nearly every skin problem. There are collagen-building products, acne products, eye creams, and much more. Women who don’t wear a lot of makeup can still enjoy great skin by using Mary Kay’s core products, which include a cleanser and moisturizer for the person’s specific skin type, a day cream that includes sunscreen, and a night serum that contains vitamins and antioxidants. Mary Kay’s products have changed to keep up with the times, as have the deep pink Cadillacs the company provides to its top-producing directors. Today, those Cadillacs are just a hint of pink. As an alternative this year, Directors can qualify to earn a 2012 black Mustang. Jen has been using Mary Kay products since she became an independent consultant three years ago. “It totally changed my skin,” she says. “I noticed a difference after just a few weeks.” Jen provides one-on-one beauty consultations for busy women, and consults at home parties and other events. She also helps raise funds for local causes by holding “Open House” events and other fundraisers and dedicating all the profits from these sales to the specified cause. Her father, Harry Randall, served as a councilman in Westwood, as Bergen County Freeholder and a New Jersey State Assemblyman. In the span of three decades, Lisa also served as a Bergen County Freeholder, an Assemblywoman and as a Commissioner of the Board of Public Utilities. Her brother, Tom Randall, is the Mayor of Ho-Ho-Kus. Since January 2011, Clerk Randall has served as Bergen County Clerk. She is now running this November for a complete 5-year term. “As a lifelong resident of Bergen County, I am proud to serve as your County Clerk. Our goal is to provide the public with competent and courteous service each and every day,” said Randall. The Bergen County Clerk’s Office is responsible for processing land records, such as deeds and mortgages, liens and notices of lis pendens. The office accepts passport applications, processes new trade name certificates, and administers notary oaths to Bergen County notaries.
