The chapel, which was recently renovated, has been used to host Chapel Concerts since 2005. The upcoming concert will musically rededicate the chapel and will include organist Kristin Johnson Dabaghian, music director at Saint John the Baptist Church in Hillsdale; liturgical composer Gerard Chiusano, whose music has been published by Oregon Catholic Press and GIA Publications; renowned tenor Sean Farley; James Stayton, music director at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland and chorus director at Immaculate Heart Academy; award-winning soprano Gay Willis, who won world-wide recognition when she performed in the tour of “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber” with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman; and the Nutley High School Chamber Singers, under the direction of Michael Cundari. The program will include sacred music from solo and instrumental works to choral pieces. Other 2011-12 Chapel Concerts will include a Don Bosco Prep Alumni Concert on Jan. 6, 2012; The Second A Cap- pella SING OFF with collegiate a cappella groups on Feb. 10; and the Don Bosco Prep Young Artists Scholarship Competition on April 21, for high school students who excel in the arts. UNICO cited at Bergen County flag-raising ceremony In celebration of the Annual Columbus Day Parade of North Jersey, Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan and the Board of Chosen Freeholders hosted an Italian flag-raising ceremony in the plaza of the County of Bergen Administrative Offices in Hackensack. Donovan also proclaimed Sept. 28, 2011 as Italian Heritage Day in Bergen County. Certificates of Commendation for charitable contributions and dedication to the Italian community of Bergen County were awarded to the Columbus Day Parade of North Jersey committee, Cosmos Club of Fair Lawn, and Bergen County UNICO Chapters. On hand to accept the certificates on behalf of Greater Ramsey UNICO were Lou LaVigna, Ramsey UNICO president and Joe Verdone, Greater Ramsey UNICO past president.
