Rates for the 2011 season are as follows: large family rate for Mahwah residents is $$360; Mahwah singles and small families, $150; Mahwah seniors, $40 per person. The special rate for Mahwah Emergency Services personnel is $25 per family. For non-resident large families, the rate is $400; the non-resident individual and small family rate is $200. The pool offers a 25-meter main pool with diving, a children’s pool, and a wading pool for toddlers. The complex includes picnic tables with grills, food service, a playground, and locker rooms with showers. Swim lessons, swim and diving teams, and lifeguard training are offered. The pool will open May 28. Membership application forms have been mailed to all Mahwah residents and former non-resident pool members. Special Mass to be celebrated The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 900 Darlington Avenue, will offer a Mass on Saturday, June 4 at 9 a.m. for those who have lost a child. Losing a child is a unique sorrow that can last a lifetime, but the experience can be a source of consolation to be in the company of others who share a similar kind of grief. During the liturgy, the names of the deceased children will be memorialized. Basketball benefit announced On May 20, the firefighters of Mahwah Fire Company #2 will challenge the teachers of the Mahwah Education Association at the Annual Patrick Roe Memorial Scholarship Basketball Game. The game will be held at the Ramapo Ridge Middle School, 150 Ridge Road at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. This annual event is a fundraiser for the Patrick Roe Memorial Scholarship Fund. Fishing Derby set Mahwah’s Annual Fishing Derby will be held May 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Silver Creek. The derby is open to Mahwah residents ages five through 13. Blood donors wanted Blood donors participating in the Mahwah Community Blood Drive in cooperation with Community Blood Services will help to ensure that the transfusion needs of area patients are met. The drive, which will be held on Friday, May 20 from 7 to 11 a.m., is sponsored by Bergen County Police and Fire Academy, 281 Campgaw Avenue.
