Magic of Mahwah New Jersey Green Automotive Business Program certifies Mahwah Sunoco ahwah Sunoco was recently awarded “green” certification by the New Jersey Green Automotive Repair Program. Mahwah Sunoco was recognized by NJGARP for implementing eco-friendly business practices that will help keep New Jersey clean and conserve precious resources. “We are excited to be recognized as the first ‘GREEN’ Auto Repair Facility in Bergen County to achieve this status. It speaks to the way we do business: First Class,” said Bill Laforet, owner of Mahwah Sunoco. “This designation reaffirms our commitment to practicing ‘green’ techniques and our goal to reduce our impact on the environment and the community. We have owned Mahwah Sunoco for 34 years and are life-long Mahwah residents. This award surely ranks among the high achievements we have made and the caliber of expert auto repair and customer service we provide.” A partnership between AAA New Jersey, the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive RetailBill and Maureen Laforet ers, and the New Jersey Gasoline C-Store Automotive Association, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, NJGARP’s goal is to promote environmentally friendly practices by the state’s automotive repair facilities in an effort to minimize their impact on the environment. The NJGARP committee developed an 88-point checklist of “green” initiatives for auto repair facilities. The checklist includes pollution prevention and resource conservation measures, waste fluids management, energy and water conservation efforts, waste water reduction, and protection of customers and workers at the facility. Each “green” initiative is assigned a point value and repair shops must achieve a minimum of 300 points to qualify for – and maintain – “green” certification by NJGARP. Mahwah Sunoco has earned on of the highest scores in the state, an elite achievement. Call (201) 529-3137 for information or to schedule an appointment.
