The event will be held at the Knights’ Council Hall at 48 Mechanic Street in Ramsey. Irish music, beer, wine, soda and an Irish buffet will be featured. Entertainment will be provided by the Connolly Brothers Band and the Early McLaughlin Irish Step Dancers. Reservations for this annual celebration are required. Connections Book Group to discuss ‘Galileo’s Daughter’ The Connections Book Group of the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey will meet March 15 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss “Galileo’s Daughter” by Dave Sobel. Youth groups plan Shrove Tuesday Pancake Feast The Youth Groups at the First Presbyterian Church will host a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Feast on March 8 in The Metzger Room at the church located at 15 Shuart Lane. Shrove Tuesday marks the beginning of the 40-day Lenten fasting period. Seatings will be at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. All are welcome. For tickets, contact Karen Robator at karenrobator@yahoo.com. Seniors announce upcoming events Ramsey Seniors are invited to borough hall to sign up for spring yoga and Tai Chi. The cost is $10 for each class. The eightweek session of Tai Chi will begin March 10. Yoga will begin March 25. The knitting and crochet group is seeking donations of yarn. Yarn may be brought to the center in Finch Park or to borough hall. Items produced by the group are delivered to hospitals, veteran headquarters, and to Ramsey Responds. The group meets on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. in the center. New members are welcome. Nominations for new committee members are now underway. Anyone interested in becoming involved with the annual planning of activities is welcome to attend the committee meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. in the center. Tickets for the March 23 bus trip to New York City to see Broadway’s new show, “Wonderland,” are available. Tickets are $100 and include transportation, lunch at Lattanzi Restaurant, and the show. Also planned for the trip are visits to the International Tattoo Show, which features marching bands and precision drill teams; a visit to the Norfolk navel base; a botanical garden tram tour; a dinner cruise on the Spirit of Norfolk; and NATO- sponsored activities. Lenten Mission offered Reverend Frank McNulty will present Saint Paul Church’s Lenten Parish Mission at 7:30 p.m. on March 13, 14, and 15 at the church located at 200 Wyckoff Avenue in Ramsey. A mission is a time to concentrate on the fundamentals: self-esteem, relationships, the love of God, suffering, and prayer. Rev. Information on Asperger’s & related services available On March 9 and April 6, The West Bergen Center for Children and Youth will offer an information session on the SOAR Experience, a therapeutic social skills program in a day camp-like environment for children and teens with Asperger’s and related disorders. An additional information session on the CIT (Counselor in Training) Program will follow on the same dates. The CIT Program is also for individuals on the spectrum. Learn about the fun-filled summer days at the SOAR Experience. Leisure Club plans Lake George trip The Ramsey Leisure Club has planned a bus trip to Lake George and Lake Placid for June 20 through 22. Included in the threeday, two-night package are lodging at the Tiki Resort, two buffet breakfasts, and two dinners -- one of which includes a show. There will be a Lake George cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement, a guided tour of Saratoga Springs and Prospect Mountain. The cost is $251 per person (double occupancy).
