Students to attend summer camp in China
Three of the eighteen New Jersey students selected to participate in a summer camp sponsored by the Confucius Institute of Rutgers University are Ramsey High School students, Jacqueline Gulla, Lindsey Hogan, and Taylor McNaboe, are scheduled to leave for China on July 17 for a two-week visit. The Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for American High School Students is sponsored by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters in cooperation with various Confucius Institutes in the U.S. The program aims to promote exchange between the youth of China and the United States and enhance American high school students’ understanding of Chinese language and culture. Since being launched in 2007, a total of 356 American high school students have been invited to participate in the summer camp in China. On May 8 at 2:42 p.m., Patrolman Mike Parise and Lieutenant Robert Hennessy conducted an investigation of an illegally parked motorcycle in the parking lot of a Main Street business. During the investigation, the officers learned that the driver, a 37-year-old man from Pearl River, Nw York, had multiple warrants for his arrest. During the arrest, the driver was found to be in possession of a loaded

handgun. On May 18 11:31 a.m., Patrolman Anthony Fiore was dispatched to North Franklin Turnpike for a motor vehicle accident. The investigation revealed that one driver had a suspended license and she had traffic and criminal warrants. The 38-year-old Mahwah woman was arrested.
A Route 17 business reported an underage man trying to buy alcohol with a fraudulent driver’s license at 11:22 a.m. on May 24. Police Officer Diane Bornkamp conducted an investigation and arrested an 18-year-old Upper Saddle River resident. At 8:29 a.m. on May 25, Patrolman Craig Weber located a stolen motor vehicle parked in the parking lot of a Route 17 business. An investigation led to the arrest of a 28-yearold Palm Bay, Florida woman for possession of a stolen vehicle. A further investigation revealed that the woman was wanted in New York. She was transported to the Bergen County Jail awaiting extradition to New York.

He has also been the prosecutor, public defender, or special prosecutor in North Arlington, Cresskill, Bergenfield, and Fairview. Born in Englewood in 1951, he was a teacher and football coach at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell from 1973 to 1977. He received a bachelor’s degree in modern languages/education in 1973 from Fairfield University, where he also received a master’s degree in Spanish/education in 1976. He attended the Rutgers Newark School of Law and the JD Western New England College School of Law and was admitted to the bar in New Jersey and in U.S. District Court in the District of New Jersey in 1980. He was a law secretary to the Hon. Theodore W. Trautwein, Superior Court assignment judge, from 1980 to 1981. Bottinelli has been admitted to the U.S. Tax Court, the bar in Florida, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. Bottinelli has been a trustee and president of the Bergen County Bar Association and was a delegate to the General Council of the New Jersey State Bar Association in 1989. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the New Jersey State Bar Foundation. He is certified as a civil trial attorney for the Supreme Court of New Jersey and he has the Board of Trial Attorney certification.
