Clean sweep
The Darlington Ridge Condo Association Landscaping Committee held a spring clean-up day, recently. The seven member team, Amy Whitney, Kathy Westcott, Raybrunelle, Gail Reynolds, Deb Conway and Art Collard and chaired by Denise Walter enlisted the help of MEVO. MEVO is an enviromental volunteers organization that started in Mahwah in 2008. Thirteen members participated in flower planting and clean-up of the buffer area. Twelve bags of garbage and recyclables were collected along with a car tire. Much to their surprise they also came upon two new born deer which they covered with a sweat shirt. This group volunteers every Saturday from March to December at NJ Botanical Gardens, the NY- NJ Trail Conference and where ever they are asked to help. MEVO is non profit and accepts donations for their equipment. For more information, contact mevovolunteers(5)mahwahevo.org or call (201) 637-0522.
