Mahwah January 12, 2011 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 9 The Mahwah Police Department is conducting an investigation following a Dec. 11 report of a robbery and theft of a food delivery driver on Stag Hill Road at approximately 2 a.m. Responding officers spoke with the victim who stated he was making a delivery to the area of Silver Lake on Stag Hill Road that had been ordered from Cars Late Night Delivery in Ramsey. The order, which had been called in to the business, was for 15 sandwiches, cheese fries, and 10 cans of soda and was requested to be delivered to the parking area adjacent to Silver Lake. When the driver arrived in the area, he located several male individuals who walked up to his vehicle. The victim parked his vehicle and Police investigate robbery on Stag Hill Road exited with the food order and gave the bill of $163.54 to the unidentified males. The individuals advised the victim they had only $140. The victim called his boss who told him to take the $140 and remove two sandwiches from the order. The victim was handed a crumpled wad of currency. While he was counting, he began getting shoved and pushed by some of the individuals. As he tried to get back in his vehicle, he was being punched in the side of the head. He was able to get in his vehicle and rapidly pulled away, leaving the food behind. The money handed to him by the assailants totaled $20. The victim needed no medical attention and was able to give a description of a few of his assailants. During an ongoing investigation in the days following the robbery, Mahwah officers and detectives were able to identify several individuals involved in the robbery. Two juvenile males from Mahwah were identified and arrested. The 17-yearold juvenile was identified as one of the assailants who had assaulted the victim, he was charged with strong armed robbery, assault, and theft. A 15-year-old was identified as being present and charged with theft. Both juveniles were released to their parent and will have to answer the charges in Bergen County Juvenile Court at a future date. Two other individuals were identified as persons involved. Mahwah detectives are trying to locate a male adult and a juvenile male, both from New York State.
