Lenten Mission offered Reverend Frank McNulty will present Saint Paul Church’s Lenten Parish Mission at 7:30 p.m. on March 13, 14, and 15 at the church located at 200 Wyckoff Avenue in Ramsey. A mission is a time to concentrate on the fundamentals: self-esteem, relationships, the love of God, suffering, and prayer. Rev. Texas Hold’em Tournament coming The Ramsey Public Education Foundation will host its Second Annual Texas Hold’em Tournament at the Ramsey Golf and Country Club on Friday, March 4. Signin begins at 7 p.m., with an 8 p.m. deal. The cost is $130 per person and includes tournament chips, dinner, and drinks. All monies raised will support enrichment programs and technology no longer being funded by local and state budgets. Participants who RSVP by Feb. 8 will receive additional chips as a bonus. Asperger’s services available On March 9 and April 6, The West Bergen Center for Children and Youth will offer an information session on the SOAR Experience, a therapeutic social skills program in a day camp-like environment for children and teens with Asperger’s and related disorders. An additional information session on the CIT (Counselor in Training) Program will follow on the same dates. The CIT Program is also for individuals on the spectrum. Learn about the fun-filled summer days at the SOAR Experience. The information sessions will highlight the SOAR Experience Program from 7 to 7:45 p.m. and the Counselor in Training

The West Bergen Center for Children and Youth is located at 1 Cherry Lane in Ramsey. Register for Ramsey Hockey The Ramsey Hockey Association will hold registration for the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Green Building in Finch Park. Registration on both days will take place between 10 a.m. and noon. Parents are encouraged to download the registration forms at ramseyhockey.com. Players are also encouraged to attend one of the registration days to get properly sized for a jersey. No experience is necessary to participate in the program. Any player who registers before Feb. 26 will be guaranteed a slot on an age appropriate team. The spring season runs from April through June at the Ice Vault in Wayne. Leisure Club plans Lake George trip The Ramsey Leisure Club has planned a bus trip to Lake George and Lake Placid for June 20 through 22. Included in the threeday, two-night package are lodging at the Tiki Resort, two buffet breakfasts, and two dinners -- one of which includes a show. There will be a Lake George cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement, a guided tour of Saratoga Springs and Prospect Mountain. The cost is $251 per person (double occupancy). Residents over the age of 55 are invited to attend. The agenda for the coming months includes guest speakers, movies, luncheons, and trips. Table tennis players sought The Ramsey Table Tennis Club meets on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9:45 p.m. at Eric S. Smith Middle School, 73 Monroe Street, off North Central Avenue. Sponsored by the Ramsey Recreation Commission, the club welcomes borough adults of all skill
levels. Players are invited to bring their own paddles. Paddles will be provided for those who do not own their own. Tables will be set up in the auxiliary gym near the school’s main gym and participation. Teens available for employment YES, the Youth Employment Services, has Ramsey High School teens who babysit; pet sit; do yard work, computer, or office work; and a host of other things. Emergency exemptions may be requested by calling (201) 327-2402. These exemptions are short term and will not be granted when inclement weather (snow, ice, or sleet) is expected. Ramsey ordinances may be viewed on the borough website.
