Ninette Antman of Wyckoff died July 24. She was 94. Early in her career, she worked for Continental Can Company in New York. Later, she was a typist for Eleanor Roosevelt at the United Nations. She wrote for the Wood-Ridge Independent. She is survived by her daughters Ninette Grannis of Montvale, Linda Leuthold of Kinnelon, and Lori Antman of Galveston, Texas, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frank J. Antman. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. He was the finance division manager for the Superior Court of New Jersey in Hackensack. Previously, he served as the CFO for Metropolitan Hospital in New York, New York. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth’s R.C. Church in Wyckoff. He is survived by his wife Valerie, his children Laura Bilodeau of Maywood, Colleen Bigott of Nutley, and Albert Bigott of Wyckoff, and his sisters Susan Cahill and Maureen Mankowski. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy and a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering and a master’s degree in naval architecture from Webb Institute. He held a certificate from the Bettis Reactor Engineering School and was a registered professional engineer in New Jersey and in the State of Washington. He was a member of the American Nuclear Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. During his career, he served as deputy assistant secretary for Weapons Complex Reconfiguration for the U.S. Department of Energy. He was the program director for the Office of Fissile Materials Disposition. He held several positions at Burns and Roe in Oradell, and worked under Admiral Rickover with responsibility for the naval reactor facility in the state of Idaho. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his children Judy Platkin of Morristown, Janet Butler of Allendale, and Mark Canter of San Ramon, California, six grandchildren, and his sister Dorothy Kreitzeerg. She is survived by her daughters Gail Albro Somers of Johnson City, Tennessee, Susan Albro Miller of West Union, Ohio, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her sister Doris C. He was employed with Brown, Harris & Stevens of New York for 23 years. He is survived by his father Joseph Gilligan, his siblings Brian and Thomas Gilligan, Teresa Lindenthaler, Maureen Scarlata, Kathleen Knapp, and Doreen Mayer, 17 nieces and nephews, and one great-nephew. Gnehm, nee Anderson, of Ramsey, formerly of Wyckoff, died July 31. She was 65. She was a teacher in the Wyckoff School District, and later worked in advertising sales with IDEARC Media. She was a parishioner at Saint Anthony’s R.C. Church in Hawthorne. She is survived by her children Michael McGee of Raleigh, North Carolina and Melissa Falk of Pompton Lakes, four grandchildren, and her brothers James Anderson of Hampton and William Anderson Jr. of New Hope, Pennsylvania. Before retiring in 1986, he was employed at United Auto Body in Fair Lawn. He was a member of American Legion Post 170 in Rochelle Park and a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Ellen, his sons Bill of West Milford and Jim of Midland Park, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and his son-in-law John Lillis of Toms River. He is survived by his children Charles II of Midland Park, Shirley Piakowski of Toms River, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
