Golf Outing planned A 2011 Golf Tournament for Denan is planned for April 25 at the Apple Ridge Country Club, 269 East Crescent Avenue in Mahwah. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. with tee off at 9 a.m. A banquet including special fundraisers, an auction, and prizes, will follow. The special guest host will be Chris Wragge, co-anchor of “The Early Show.” Proceeds will benefit The Denan Project. This nonprofit, grassroots organization’s volunteers secure the resources to provide free medical care, potable water, agricultural training, education, and other critical services for the people of Denan, Ethiopia and the surrounding villages, and to other impoverished communities in the developing world. Adult may register for softball Registration for Mahwah’s adult softball program will be held at the recreation building, 70 East Ramapo Avenue, on Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, May 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Players must be at least 21 years old, and must provide proof of residency. Municipal pool rates set Mahwah Municipal Pool rates have been set for the 2011 season. The large family rate for Mahwah residents is $285 for early subscribers and $360 after April 30. For Mahwah singles and small families, the rate for early subscribers is $115; $150 after April 30. The rate for Mahwah seniors is $40 per person. The spe- cial rate for Mahwah Emergency Services personnel is $25 per family. For non-resident large families the rate is $400; the nonresident individual and small family rate is $200. Membership application forms have been mailed to all Mahwah residents and former non-resident pool members. Elks host Spring Fling The Mahwah Elks, 1 Foxwood Lane in Mahwah, will host a Spring Fling on Saturday, May 14 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. The event will feature live classic rock and oldies by The Odell Brothers Rhythm & Blues Review and a buffet style dinner with beer, wine, and soda.
