Nets for Life is a grassroots mosquito netting effort to educate, engage, and unite individuals in the fight against malaria, which is spread by mosquitoes. The program partnership includes companies, foundations, non-profits, and non-governmental groups working to fight malaria. With malaria killing a child a minute in South Africa, Nets for Life is working to educate and protect children and individuals on a “net culture.” Donations of gently used children’s school and athletic shoes that will fit children from the ages of four through 12 will be collected at Trinity’s booth. Shoes for the orphaned children attending the Mustard Seed Academy will be
taken to Uganda this fall by Real Partners Board member Kathryn Hiscock. Trinity also has a collection box located outside the church on 55 George Street in Allendale. The Blessing of the Animals will be held immediately following the contest. No pet is too small or too large and all species and denominations are welcome. A second opportunity to have pets blessed will be offered on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the church located at 55 George Street at the 10:30 a.m. service.
