Residents are reminded to bundle papers in stacks no more than eight inches high and leave those bundles at the curb the night before the collection. Any papers put at the curb after 8 a.m. on Saturday may be missed. Warrior Hoops holds registration Registration for The Waldwick Junior Warrior Hoops recreational basketball program will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Waldwick High School gym entrance. The Waldwick Junior Warrior Hoops program offers 10 weeks of basketball instruction from December through March, an intramural program, and traveling teams that play competitive games against other towns. The boys’ intramural program, open to students in grades three through eight, aims to develop skills. The boys will play against other teams within the program. The Lil’ Warrior girls’ basketball program, an instructional program for players to develop skills and learn game situations, is open to girls in grades one through six. Girls in grades three through six will also play games. Competitive travel teams will hold tryouts in October. Participants must also be registered for Warrior Junior Hoops. Teams are determined by interest and skill levels. Travel teams are offered to boys in grades four through eight and to girls in grades three and four and five through eight. Digital photo class offered Well-known New Jersey photographer Walter Choroszewski will present “Digital Photo Class II: I Took the Shot…Now What?” at the Waldwick Public Library on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. As a followup to his introductory program, “Getting to Know Your Digital Camera,” Choroszewski has designed this presentation to help develop a digital workflow and photo management plan. The program will include a comparison of some popular photo-editing software programs and tips and tricks for e-mailing images and making prints. In addition to the numerous coffee-table books and wall calendars Choroszewski has published about New Jersey, his images of the state were used to launch the popular “New Jersey & You…Perfect Together” tourism campaign of the 1980s and ‘90s. Choroszewski is also a graphic designer, videographer, and lecturer who works to foster pride in New Jersey. Learn about Feng Shui: The American Way Certified Feng Shui practitioner Katie Karlovitz will present “Feng Shui: The American Way” at the Waldwick Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. Karlovitz will present the basic tenets of the Chinese art of environmentally-aware perfect furniture placement using culturally appropriate examples of Western adjustments. Topics covered in the one-hour seminar will include the clutter conundrum, how space affects you, the command position, intention, and abundance vs. prosperity. Rowe, a Waldwick studio member, won the 12-week challenge to see who could lose the largest percentage of body weight. Rowe lost 35 pounds, representing 21 percent of her body weight and six percent of her body fat. Seventy-six Get in Shape studios participated in this event. The Body Transformation program is based on four components: weight training to increase muscle tone and resting metabolism, interval cardio training to burn fat and calories faster and get the heart in shape, healthy and sustainable nutrition, and accountability. Movie Night set The Waldwick United Methodist Church, located at 25 Franklin Turnpike, will host an outdoor Movie Night on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. (Rain date: Sept. 24.) The church will present the Disney family film, “The Incredibles.” Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free; food will be available for purchase. Included in the event will be live music. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The eighth annual Waldwick Day, sponsored by the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24 from noon to 5 p.m. at Borough Park. (Rain date: Sunday, Sept. 25.) The Chamber invites outside crafters to set up booths this year. Attendees can look forward to stalls containing everything from jewelry, Pampered Chef, Avon, Tupperware, hand painted silk scarves, tutus, palm readers, and tie-dying. This year, the day is being extended to 5 p.m. There will be music, food, an obstacle course and games, a pie eating contest, and the Lions Club’s Duck Derby. The event gives Waldwick Chamber members the opportunity to showcase their goods and services or to sponsor an attraction and/or activity in appreciation to the
