Dorsey demonstrates holiday arrangements Donna Dorsey of Plant Nannies will demonstrate festive arrangements for the holidays to the Ho-Ho-Kus Woman’s Club on Nov. 7 at noon. Clean Communities Day set In partnership with the Clean Communities program and the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus, the Girl Scouts of HoHo-Kus will hold a one day fall cleanup to assist seniors or shut-ins on Thursday, Nov. 10. (Rain date: Nov. 11.) Borough seniors and shut-ins who need assistance with fall cleanup are encouraged to contact the borough hall. The service will include the collection and bagging of leaves, trash, debris, and recyclables. Those who request the service must be home during the cleanup, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon. The program is available on a first come, first served basis and is limited to 10 properties. Tools and bags will be provided to those who volunteer. Club holds shopping benefit Eurica gift shop in Wyckoff will host the Contemporary Club of Ho-Ho-Kus on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The shop is located at 648 Wyckoff Avenue. The event will feature shopping and club announcements. Eurica is offering its merchandise at a 10 percent discount and has pledged a donation of 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds to the club. Library website offers new programs The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library in Ho-HoKus website offers Job and Career Accelerator to help with the job search process. In addition, new E-books are
added monthly to the library’s collection for Nooks, iPads, iBooks, and other E-readers. The site offers links to the New York Times Best-Seller List, BCCLS, the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus website, the HoHo-Kus Public School, and reference resources. There is also information on managing borrowing from home with a valid library card, children’s programs, and new books that the library has recently acquired. Church hosts Annual Bistro Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Ho-Ho-Kus will hold its annual Bistro on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. The event, held at the church at 70 Sheridan Avenue, will feature a special auction, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a selection of wines and music by Bill Moraites, Bobby Knee and Ralph Bibeau. New Story Time hours announced The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library in Ho-Ho-Kus has announced new hours for its Story Time. The program will meet on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m. and will run through December. Sign up is not necessary. Vendors sought for Holiday Bazaar Ho-Ho-Kus Community Church is seeking vendors for its Holiday Bazaar to be held on Nov. 12. The cost for an upstairs location will be $75 and $60 for a downstairs location. The bazaar will feature gifts for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, including handmade crafts, baked goods, preserves and jellies, books, a café, and musical entertainment. ‘Hymn Sings’ open to public Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church invites the public to its Hymn Sing every Thursday from 9:30 to
10 a.m. at the church located at 70 Sheridan Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. The sing is followed by a Eucharist healing service and Bible study. For more information, call (201) 389-6564. Halloween Parade set Calling all ghosts and goblins! The Ho-Ho-Kus Youth Activities Council and the Contemporary Club of Ho-HoKus will sponsor the annual Halloween Parade on Saturday, Oct. 29. Parade participants will assemble in front of borough hall at 333 Warren Avenue at 9:45 a.m. At 10 a.m., the parade will proceed down Warren Avenue to Lloyd Road and end at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School. Library accepts exhibits The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library, 91 Warren Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus, wants to hear from area residents who want to display their original artwork or interesting collections. VFW seeks memorabilia Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 192 in Ho-Ho-Kus is seeking photos, newspaper clippings, post cards, maps, aerial photos, and similar items featuring Ho-Ho-Kus and the immediate area, including the Hopper-Zabriskie Cemetery on First Street in Ho-Ho-Kus, prior to 1966.
