Children’s Colonial Day at Fell House Upper Saddle River resident Elizabeth Gallina is conducting a Children’s Colonial Day at the John Fell House in Allendale, 475 Franklin Turnpike, as her Girl Scout Gold Award project. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to children of all ages. The event will feature a variety of interactive activities for children, including colonial crafts, indoor parlor games, and outdoor relay races. Compete with or cheer on the children during sack races and three-legged races. There will be patriotic tattoos, face painting, and pumpkin decorating. Also a performance, sing along, and author reading of “The Ghosts of Allendale” will be presented. Apple cider and donuts will be served in the home’s kitchen. Club hosts dinner and wine tasting benefit The Woman’s Club of Upper Saddle River will host a Dinner and Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Savini’s Restaurant in Allendale. The club invites women over age 40 to become involved in the community through the club’s community outreach fundraisers and social events. Wine pairing dinner benefit seeks support The Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club is seeking donations and sponsors for its wine pairing dinner and special auction fundraising event on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at Seasons in Washington Township. The high-profile event features Dan Amatuzzi, wine director of Eataly in New York City and private wine consultant, who will offer tips on unique wine and food pairing. The evening will include a cocktail hour, premium open bar, a four-course

Cultural center offers children’s events The Saddle River Cultural Center invites children of all ages to come in costume for a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 29. The event will feature a DJ Laser Light Spooktacular, dancing, games, crafts, pumpkin decorating, doughnuts, and cider. On Nov. 5, the center will offer BubbleMania, a 45 minute bubble show for children of all ages. The program is loaded with visual comedy, wit, big band swing music and bubble creation art forms including “trapping” people in bubbles. This show will be held at the Old Stone Church’s educational building, 500 East Saddle River Road. The YoYo People will entertain on Nov. 19 with an entire show featuring yoyos. The husband and wife duo bring deft timing and skill as well as humor to their program featuring bouncy balls, hula hoops and unicycles.
