Chamber welcomes community to Holiday Walk
The members of the Allendale Chamber of Commerce extend an invitation to all Allendale residents to attend the Annual Chamber Holiday Walk on Friday, Dec. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. During this event, West Allendale Avenue will be closed off (starting at 6 p.m.) and transformed from a suburban main street into a festive promenade area rife with holiday family activities. The night will start with the “Lighting of the Tree” in front of the Allendale Bar & Grill at 7 p.m. Afterwards, local businesses and civic organizations will offer holiday cheer to all families strolling along West Allendale Avenue. Holiday music will be provided by the Brookside School Chorus and the Northern Highlands chorus and band. Local residents will also be singing and playing holiday music throughout the evening. Santa Claus will arrive at 7:15 p.m. escorted by the Allendale Fire Department and Ambulance Corps to the Bank of America branch on Allendale Avenue and will remain there until 9 p.m. greeting children and hearing their requests and giving out candy canes contributed by AB&G. Free parking is available in the New Jersey Transit parking lot across from the Allendale Train Station and next to the A&P Shopping Mall. “We hope that all who come enjoy the evening and the sights and sounds of the holidays in Allendale,” said Walk Chairman William Ford, branch manager of Bank of America. For any additional Holiday Walk information, please contact Ford at (201) 825-0448.
