Page 12 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • November 16, 2011 Dear Readers: The Waldwick Chamber of Commerce continues to make great strides within the community. As our membership grows, so do the events we produce. Waldwick Day was recently held on Sunday, Sept. 25. Although the inclement weather forced us to use our rain date, we wound up having a wonderful event and a beautiful day. This year, we added a crafts section and a Dog Contest. Over 2,000 people attended from Waldwick and the surrounding towns. Please mark your calendar for the Fifth Annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk scheduled for Sunday, May 6, 2012. This event attracts runners and walkers from all over Bergen County and beyond. Last year, we raised over $9,000, had 378 people cross the finish line, 43 sponsors, and a wonderful representation of volunteers. Overall, it was a beautiful spring day with no injuries reported. As always, we thank Waldwick’s police department, fire department, DPW, board of education, the ambulance corps, CERT, and the mayor and council for their continued support. As a Chamber of Commerce, our main goal is to support local business. If you have a business or know someone who does, tell them about us. Our membership is always open, so please visit our new and improved website, www.waldwickchamber.com, to sign up at any time. The Waldwick Chamber of Commerce continues to implement new programs and exciting events throughout the year. If you want your business to stay strong and current, networking with other business owners is a proven way to gain additional exposure into the community. As we head into the holiday season, please refer to our list of businesses for all your shopping needs. With warmest and best regards, Christine Figliuolo, President Waldwick Chamber of Commerce Members of the Waldwick Boy Scout troops will be collecting newspapers for recycling on Saturday, Nov. 19.
