He was employed as an engineer at the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah. He is survived by his niece Colette, nephew Ken, and cousins Marie, Lynn, Valerie, Wesley, Nicholas, and Angela. Florence Breen McFadden of Batavia, Illinois, formerly of Ridgewood, died on Oct. 24. She was 106. After graduating from secretarial school, she was employed in a Reading, Pennsylvania bank until her marriage. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood and a leader in the church’s Altar Society. She is survived by her sons David McFadden of Geneva, Illinois and Joseph Hugh McFadden of New York City, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Oelfke of Upper Saddle River died Nov. 1. He was 86. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Leonia High School and Roberts Tech and Trade School. He was a teacher at BOCES Technical School in Rockland, New York and a member of the Ham Radio Club. He is survived by his nieces and nephews. Riordan, nee Rey, of Ramsey died Nov. 3. She was 78. She was a volunteer at the Brookside Manor Condo Association, and had served on the Mahwah Board of Elections. She is survived by her children Susan Riordan Tirgrath of Cary, North Carolina, and Richard Riordan of Ramsey, six grandchildren, and her sisters Ruth Riorden and Julie Fileas. She had worked with the Theurer Agency Inc. in New York City. Later she was employed at Dairy Queen in Ramsey and worked for Peters Florist until her retirement. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church and a life member of the Ramsey Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Amore Chapter #176 and on the Ramsey Board of Elections. She is survived by her children John R. (Jack) Schertel, Alice L. Mashig, Lorraine J. Schertel, Lawrence E. Schertel, and Peter T. Schertel, 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John E.
