Emily G. Del Gaizo of Allendale, formerly of Orange and New Providence, died Oct. 24. Before retiring in 1975, she was a secretary with the U.S. Department of Labor and then the Lummus Corp. in Bloomfield. She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in New Providence. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Senior Citizens of New Providence. She is survived her sisters Flora Conti of Toms River and Grace Seber of Bloomfield, her niece Carole Norman of Franklin Lakes, and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Anna Dacunzo and Aida Cuva, and her brother Fred Gizzi. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Vermeulen Funeral Home in Franklin Lakes. Joan C. Denu, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died Oct. 21. She was 74. She had attended the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest and graduated from Endicott College in Massachusetts. She worked in the fashion industry in New York City before her marriage. She is survived by her mother Grace Cooper, her children Jacqueline Denu, Cynthia Denu-Ciocca, and Mark Denu, seven grandchildren, and her brothers Robert Waide Cooper and John E. Cooper Jr. She was predeceased by her husband Roger Denu. Arrangements were made by Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon, Connecticut. Veronica Mary Duffy, nee Brogan, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Mahwah and Naples, Florida, died Oct. 18. She was 86. Born in Ireland, she came to the United States in 1948. She attended the Wilfred Academy and became a hair stylist in Manhattan. She is survived by her children Kathleen, Charles, Veronica, Sean, and Maureen, her grandchildren, and her brothers John and Mikie in Ireland, and her sister Teresa in Australia. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Hudner Duffy, her brothers Pakie and Eamon, and her sisters Mae, Annie, Eleanor, Kathleen, and Bridget Brogan. Lucas, nee Cyphers, of West Milford, formerly of Mahwah and Wyckoff, died Oct. 24. She was 88. She was a member of the Wyckoff Woman’s Club, the High Mountain Golf Club, and Wyckoff Reformed Church. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park where she was a Sunday school teacher. She had been employed at Sears in the Paramus Park Mall. She is survived by her children Shari Lucas of Niantic, Connecticut, Scott Lucas of Fair Lawn, three grandchildren, her sister Janet Koningswood of Ringoes, and her brother Henry Van De Veen of Midland Park. She is survived by her children Laura Flandera of Ringwood, and Donald Jr. of Glenside, Pennsylvania, three grandchildren, and her sisters Margaret Lindsay and Leona Schauble, both of Mill Valley, California. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is currently a partner and chief financial officer at Kacela Capital, LLC. DiMartino is the treasurer of the USR Baseball Association, and a baseball and basketball coach. He has also served as treasurer and executive board member of the Upper Saddle River Educational Foundation. The non-binding public question asks if voters wish to authorize the establishment of a Municipal Trust Fund for the acquisition, development, maintenance, and preservation of lands for recreation and conservation purposes and for the acquisition of farmland and historic properties for preservation. The fund would also cover the payment of debt service for the purchase of any of these properties. Property owners would be taxed annually at $0.01 per $100 of assessed value to fund this program, which would extend for five years.
