Diana calls this expansion of their original Nyack store a one-stop shop for home décor and gifts. “We provide interior design & decorating services, custom window treatments, event planning, and of course the perfect hostess gifts for every occasion and in every price point,” Diana explains. The shop also offers gift registry and free gift wrapping. While Diana began her career as an attorney 24 years ago, she has also pursued her passion for decorating for the last 20 years. Diana’s legal skills and decorating creativity have allowed her to always keep the homeowner in mind. “Ultimately, it is the client’s home, not the designer’s; their budget and lifestyle must be respected when designing the space,” she explains. Theodora’s carries a unique selection of home furnishings including lighting, artwork, furniTheodora’s Gracious Gift & Design ture, accessories, area rugs, and creative floral arrangements -- but the shop’s specialty is custom window treatments: from simple designs to simply fabulous! Diana and Nikita are ably assisted by floral designer Dominick Peluso and store Manager Kelly Maris. “We’ve been blessed since we opened in October. So many people have allowed us to beautify their homes and have become our friends,” she adds. “We believe it is important to be part of the community, to give back to those who support us.” Diana notes that Theodora’s has supported many of the local fundraising organizations and is a Platinum Sponsor of Allendale Day 2011. This month, one of the homes Diana has decorated & created all the window treatments in, was featured on the Old Tappan Woman’s Club’s House Tour. Theodora’s Gracious Gift & Design brings beauty to Allendale I Peachy Keen Kids: A very unique boutique eachy Keen Kids is a very unique boutique located in Allendale. “We specialize in the one-of-a-kind, from hand painted children’s rocking chairs to a complete nursery design,” explains owner Susan Keane. Keane opened the business five years ago and expanded after completing an interior design program. “Initially, Peachy Keen Kids was known for beautiful baby and children’s gifts and décor. We have now expanded into a full design center specializing in baby’s and children’s rooms up to the teens,” Susan advises. Peachy Keen Kids strives to carry American-made products, and all of Susan’s bedding suppliers and most of her furniture suppliers are located in the U.S. Susan notes that there are high-quality furniture companies here in the U.S. that make beautiful furniture from quality wood (not particle board or MDF) with custom finishes. “You may pay a little more,” she says, “but the pieces are custom and, in many cases, Peachy Keen Kids made to pass on to the next generation.” Susan can also assist is decorating a child’s room with custom murals, unique lighting fixtures, mirrors, rugs, and wall art. “We also do custom bedding for cribs up to king size beds and can coordinate window treatments with the bedding,” Susan adds. Susan and several other local artists paint and personalize piggy banks, rocking chairs, rocking horses, toy boxes, jewelry boxes, and many other items. Monogramming is available for items ranging from blankets to bathing suits. Susan also carries christening and specialty dresses. “Today, most people think chain stores are the only options for furnishing or decorating a child’s room.
