Home Helpers Senior Care makes life easier!
Visit Backswing for women’s sports and leisure apparel
ecessity truly is the mother of invention for Terri Shedler, owner of Allendale’s newest business: Backswing. While searching for her own golf gear, Terri noticed a lack of distinctive women’s clothing – and a dearth of female retailers. Taking matters into her own hands, this Allendale resident and experienced retailer decided to assemble attractive clothing, both new and gently-used, to be sold in her own retail and consignment boutique. Backswing, which will open to the public this week, is an assemblage of golf, fitness, and yoga apparel, and some sports equipment. But Terri notes that her customers need not be involved in sports to find something to wear at her shop. “You don’t have to play. The clothes are very leisure casual with a boutique-y twinge,” Terri says, calling her apparel “all-day wear.” She adds that many items being offered on consignment are namebrand pieces that have been worn Terri Shedler only once, or not at all. “Many still have the tags on, and they’re being offered at drastically reduced prices,” Terri says. Backswing offers clothing at a wide range of price points, so Terri feels certain there is something for everyone in her store. Be sure to visit Backswing on Wednesday, May 18. Grand Opening festivities, including a ribbon cutting, will take place at 11 a.m. All who visit the store that day will be treated to coupons for a discount on their first purchase. Terri notes that many people have already visited the shop, although she was not officially open for business. “I didn’t even have a cash register!” she notes. Now is the time to visit. Backswing is located at 78 West Allendale Avenue in downtown Allendale. Call (201) 962-3433 for store hours and additional information.
