Club welcomes Tran SRVJWC Membership Director Julie Belardinelli (left) welcomes Lily Tran. The Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club recently welcomed Lily Tran as its newest member. The induction ceremony was held at the Bishop House. Tran was strongly influenced by her mother, who, after coming to the U.S. from Vietnam, established a non-profit organization to assist newly arrived refugees. “Through words and deeds, my mother encouraged me to look beyond narrow interests and seek ways of helping others,” Tran said. A graduate of James Madison University and the University of Maryland, Tran has many outstanding accomplishments to her credit. She was president of The Asian American Society, where she raised funds and helped people in need access basic vocational training. Her threeyear involvement in Youth Media focused on educating the Asian community. Working with the American Bar Association’s section of Individual Rights & Responsibilities, Tran lobbied to gain admission for 2,000 individuals, 600 families from the Philippines to the U.S. Tran resides in Upper Saddle River with her husband Jee-Hoon and two children, Girard and Aria. “Every day I wake up feeling so blessed to have them in my life.
