Helen Loretta Clark, nee McCarthy, of Waldwick died March 13. She was 94. She was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s Church in Ho-Ho-Kus for over 50 years, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She is survived by her children Moira Bentzel of Fairfield, Maine, Jean Roe of Mahwah, Paul Clark of Centerville, Ohio, Barry Clark of Hawthorne, and Francis Clark of West Milford, nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard, her stepson Bernard Clark, and her grandson Patrick Roe. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Memorial donations may be made to the Lieutenant Patrick Roe Scholarship Fund, Mahwah Fire Department Company #2, 60 Island Road, Mahwah, NJ 07430. Joseph Comparetto of Upper Saddle River died March 8. He was 87. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He founded Comparetto and Kenny with his partner Bernard Kenny, and developed it into the second largest architectural/engineering firm in the State of New Jersey for more than 30 years. Together they were responsible for dozens of schools, municipal facilities, office buildings, and churches. He was a member of Apple Ridge County Club in Mahwah, and the Belleair Country Club in Belleair, Florida. He was honored twice by Marquis Who’s Who in the East, and was a member of the Turf and Field Club in New York City. He is survived by his children Joseph Comparetto Jr. and Pamela Eipert, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Angelina Comparetto. Arrangements were made by Van-Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Patrick J. Daly of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Waldwick and Manchester Township, died March 8. He was 93. He is survived by his children Peter Daly of Georgia, Mary LaSala of Wayne, Frances Finley of Hazlet, and Loraine Garcia of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Gene Daly, and his sons Paul and Robert. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Robert Ellis of Ridgewood died March 12. He was 49. He is survived by Robert, William, and Sarah Ellis, his parents Robert and Sondra Ellis, his sister Susan Ellis, and nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife Lennie Garver of Ho-Ho-Kus, his children George Garver III, Jeanmarie Garver-Gaydos, and Glenn Garver, and two grandchildren. Edward J. Healy of Ridgewood died March 14. He was 89. He was a U.S. navy veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1983, he was the corporate director of manufacturing in industrial engineering for Colgate-Palmolive, where he worked for 36 years. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University, Class of 1942, where he was president of Sigma Chi fraternity and played varsity baseball. He was a member of Ridgewood United Methodist Church, and of the Hobbyists. He is survived by his wife Mary, his children Linda Chambers, Kathy Clements, and Bob Healy, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh, Inc. in Ridgewood. Marion Kohler, nee Kibitz, of Wyckoff, formerly of Bronx, New York and Glen Rock, died March 11. She is survived by her husband Robert, her sons Donald and Frederick, two grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. Arrangements were made by Browning-Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Joseph Thomas McDonough of Glen Rock died March 16. He was 68. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve veteran. Before retiring in 2007, he was an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 3 in New York City for 46 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, where he was a Eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, and member of a prayer group for 30 years. He was also a member of the Activities Club of Glen Rock and Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his wife Jean L. (Welden) McDonough, his children Elizabeth Frawley, Kerri Croland, Joseph K. McDonough, Thomas McDonough, and Brian McDonough, 10 grandchildren, and his sisters Eileen Ferry and Mary Rusch. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc. in Fair Lawn. Thomas of Mahwah, formerly of Upper Saddle River, died March 12. He was 84. He was a U.S. Army 11th Airborne veteran of WWII. He was a psychologist and was employed by the City of New York in the 1950s. He later became the director of placement at Children’s Village of Dobbs Ferry, New York. He is survived by his children Theresa Rasmussen, John Thomas, Mark Thomas, and Richard Thomas, 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

DeWitt is a school psychologist with the Glen Ridge school district. He graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in psychology and has master’s degrees from Farleigh Dickinson University/Madison and New Jersey City University in Jersey City and is completing a master’s degree in urban education with a specialization in educational administration and supervision. He is a member of the Waldwick Knights of Columbus, the Waldwick Pistol and Rifle Club and the Waldwick Lions Club. He and his wife, Jennifer, have one daughter and are members of St. Luke’s Church. Moran is a health benefits coordinator. She has a degree in economics and finance from Rutgers University and completed post-graduate studies at New York University’ Stern Business School. She is active in the Waldwick baseball and softball associations and Girl Scouts and is a class mother at Crescent School. She and her husband, Daniel, have three children and are members of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park, where Moran teaches Vacation Bible School McLafferty, a previous unsuccessful candidate for the board, graduated from Ramapo College and is a marketing director for a financial services company. She is president of the Traphagen School PSO and a volunteer with the Waldwick Middle School PSO. She was a member of the executive board for the 2010 Graduation Ball, of the interview committee for the high school principal in 2008 and of the St. Luke’s Youth Group Council. She and her husband, Jim, have two sons. Puccio is the engineering manager for the northeast region of Doka USA, Ltd. A graduate of Hackensack High School, he attended the Plaza School of Drafting as an architectural major. He is a member of the chamber of commerce and the Crescent School PSO and previously coached Waldwick soccer. He and his wife, Sandra, have two daughters and are members of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. Walsh is a teacher in Ho-Ho-Kus.A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, she holds a master’s degree in reading from Montclair State University and is pursuing a second master’s in education administration and supervision. She is an assistant coach in the recreation soccer and softball programs. She and her husband, Brendan, have three children and are active members of St. Luke’s Church, where Walsh teaches CCD.
