Seeing the familiar in new and unexpected ways is the theme of the latest and largest exhibit of photography to be presented at the Waldwick Public Library. A double feature for the senses, the exhibit by professional photographer Bill Smithuysen includes 23 dramatic, oversized photographs in the lobby gallery space and another 29 vibrant photographs in the children’s room. The soft, dream-like quality on display in the majority of the photographs in the gallery space was achieved by Smithuysen’s use of a regular Nikon camera that had been converted to an infra-red camera.
