Plans underway for West Bergen’s April 3 Brunch Members of the West Bergen Honorary Brunch Committee Villadom Socials Odos celebrate 69 years of marriage Rosemary and Peter Odo Rosemary and Peter Odo of Upper Saddle River recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary with their family. Rosemary (nee Otens) and Peter were married Feb. 20, 1942 at the original Saint Paul’s Church in Ramsey. Patricia Gleason served as maid of honor, and John Adler was best man. The couple met at the country store in Upper Saddle River, which is currently the site of the Church of the Presentation on West Saddle River Road. Rosemary is a graduate of Saint Luke’s High School, formerly located in Ho-Ho-Kus. After raising her family, she worked as a school crossing guard, for B. Altman and Company, and as a police dispatcher. Her brother, Andrew, was Upper Saddle River’s first police chief. Peter, who was originally from Saddle River, is a graduate of Montclair State College (now Montclair State University). After his marriage, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Italy, earning a Purple Heart. For over 20 years, he taught at Brookside School in Allendale. He later became borough clerk in Upper Saddle River. The couple raised eight children. They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
