Republican Club reorganizes The Upper Saddle River Republican Club will meet March 22 to reorganize and to hold an election of new officers. The meeting will be held in the adult solarium of the Upper Saddle River Library at 245 Lake Street at 7:30 p.m. The club welcomes ideas on how they can better support Republican candidates as they head into 2012. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:45 p.m. Members and non-members invited. This year’s membership dues, $20 per person or $25 per family, may be paid at the meeting or mailed to: USR Republican Club, P.O. Box 596, Saddle River, NJ 07458. Church hosts support group Church of the Presentation is offering a support group for those who have recently lost a loved one. Trained facilitators will work with the group over eight weeks from March 28 through May 16. Hours are 7:30 to 9 p.m. Topics to be presented include loneliness, anger, guilt, family dynamics, and inner healing. The program is free, but registration is required. Seminar on digital photography offered Well-known New Jersey photographer Walter Choroszewski will bring his expertise, humor, and technical knowhow to the Upper Saddle River Library on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. His informal digital photo class will offer instruction on developing a digital work flow and management plan on a computer. Choroszewski will demonstrate basic photo editing techniques using popular commercial

Donations sought for Gold Award project Upper Saddle River Girl Scout Ashely Pagano of Troop 913 is seeking gift card donations to help furnish the living room at the Eva’s Village in Paterson. Pagano is renovating the living room for her Gold Award project. Last month, she ran a Rummage Sale to raise funds for this effort. For more information, call (201) 242 2773. Get to know Facebook The Upper Saddle River Library is offering a class on the social network, Facebook, on Thursday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. Facebook is a way to connect with family, friends, and organizations. The program will cover: exploring a Facebook page, what makes the site so popular, privacy, and ease of use concerns. Presenter Carole Lotito has 20 years of systems and marketing experience and has taught scores of users how to make the best use of office and social technology. The library is at 245 Lake Street. Call (201) 327-2583. Rizzotti to exhibit oil paintings Bob Rizzotti will exhibit his oil paintings at the Upper Saddle River Library during the month of March. Rizzotti, a Waldwick resident, specializes in landscapes. This exhibit will include his paintings of Italy, Greece, Bavaria, and the United States. For more information, call (201) 327-2583. Annual Plant Sale announced The Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club is taking orders for its Annual Plant Sale. High quality plants are available at great prices. The sale offers a fabulous selection of annuals, perennials, herbs, and hanging baskets. Plants will arrive on May 7, Mother’s Day weekend. Deadline to order is April 3. Book group to meet Coffee Talk Book Discussion Group will discuss “The Space Between Us” by Thrity Umrigar on March 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Upper Saddle River Library.
