He had played football offensive and defensive tackle for the first two years after the opening of Paramus High School. He managed Kathryn A. Scoskie Florist, Greenhouses and Nursery, the family business. He served as president of the Fort Lee Antique Arms Association. He was a member of the Company of Military Historians, West Point Chapter, the General Phil Kearny American Civil War Round Table in Wayne, and the NJ Historic Miniatures. He was president of the Eastern Militaria Collectors Association, and a member of the Revolutionary War Round Table, Historical Society of Bergen County, member of the Mahwah Museum Society, supporter of the Brigade of the American Revolution, 1776 Militia re-enactor, and past president of the Waldwick Pistol and Rifle Club based at the George Bunning Police Training Facility. He served as an official of the MAX Show International, both as an awards chairman and judge. He served as a volunteer line producer for WPI-TV Public Access Channel in Waldwick. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Flurchick, his children TJ Flurchick, Tanjya Avieles, and Sonjya Kithkart, and his brother Jim Flurchick. He was 87. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was employed with ABEX Corp. in Mahwah for 35 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Paul’s RC Church in Ramsey. He is survived by his children Dr. Joseph R. Holtman Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, John J. Holtman of Mendon, Vermont, and Thomas G. Holtman of Warwick, New York, six grandchildren, and his brother William Holtman of Denver, Colorado. He was predeceased by his wife Lois A. Holtman (nee Schmitt), and his sister Mary K. Bonick. After retiring, he took a job as a school crossing guard in Dumont. His remained at his post at Seltzer School for 19 years until he retired at 84. He was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. He is survived by his daughter Theresa Kirk Durie of Carluke, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK. She had worked at the Ramada Inn in Saddle Brook as the head housekeeper for many years. She is survived by her children James of Everett, Washington, and Arleen Swift of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son Charlie, her siblings Carol of Mahwah, and Ronald Nunziata of Chandler, Arizona, her stepmother Millicent Nunziata, her stepbrothers William and Scott, and her nieces and nephews. She emigrated in 1956 from Istanbul, Turkey and attended Vassar College, graduating in 1959. She worked as a Eugene B. Kirk research chemist at IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Center for 10 years. She was assistant director of the cultural affairs department at Passaic County Community College, where she also worked in the Poetry Center for 19 years. She is survived by her husband Albert, her children Elizabeth and Gregory, one grandson, and her sister Tamara Nizamian. Adam F. Rinbrand Jr. of Glen Rock died June 7. He was 81. After his graduation from Ridgewood High School, he worked as a master well driller. He was the president and owner of the Rinbrand Well Drilling Company in Glen Rock. He was a member of numerous local, state, and national organizations, including the National Ground Water Association, the American Water Works Association, the North Jersey Water Conference, and the New Jersey Ground Water Association. He sat on the board of directors for the Glen Rock Savings Bank and was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hawthorne. He is survived by his wife Betty (nee Wozney) Rinbrand, his children Debbie Rinbrand Cella, Cheryl Rinbrand, Clifford Rinbrand, and Stephen Rinbrand, all of Glen Rock, and four grandchildren.
