He spent four years in London as vice president of operations for the Eastern Hemisphere, and then in New York as vice president of operations for the Western Hemisphere. In 1971, he retired from Kellogg to become president of U.S. Operations for Hoechst-Uhde Corp. He served as a trustee of the Saddle River Country Day School and chairman of its Development Committee. He served 30 years as a trustee of Stoneleigh Burnham School in Greenfield, Massachusetts, including six years as president. He was responsible for establishing numerous scholarships, and has two buildings named in his honor, the Benn Jesser Math & Science building and the Bonnie Benn Athletic House. He served as a board member of the Girl Scout Council of Bergen County where he coordinated the establishment of a camp for 500 girls. He was active on Nantucket Island and was vice chairman of the Solid Waste Committee. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jenter Jesser of Amelia Island, Florida, his children Wendy Stowe and Penny Rohrbach, both of Vero Beach, Florida, Jack Jesser of Shrewsbury, Vermont, Dorothea Jesser of Taftsville, Vermont; his stepchildren Bonnie Carr and Tom, David and Ray Clark, Carl and Rob Jenter and Gail Parker; and his brother Richard Jesser of Princeton; 31 grandchildren; and 53 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Alice Abeel, his second wife Darcy Coogan Clark, his daughter Bonnie Benn Jesser, and his brother Ned Jesser. Arrangements were made by C. C. She attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Saint Charles, Missouri, and was awarded the Child of Mary medal her senior year in high school. She attended Saint Louis University, where she became one of the first women to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. She was a physical therapist at Valley Hospital for 25 years. She volunteered with the Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, and the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus. She was a member of Saint Gabriel’s Parish in Saddle River. She is survived by her husband Jack, her children Christie Mahle and her husband Dave of Wyckoff, Karen Randall and her husband Tom of Ho-Ho-Kus, Carolyn Tarantino and her husband Len of Ho-Ho-Kus, John Painter and his wife Joanne of Wyckoff, and Robert Painter and his wife Jill of Ridgewood, 12 grandchildren, and her sisters Jeanne Mudd and Gail Mundmiller both of Saint Charles, Missouri. Zullig Sr. of Bonita Springs, Florida, formerly of Glen Rock, died June 9. He was 95. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring he was vice president of Jacobs Woolen Co. in New York City. He is survived by is children Charles, Karen, Kathleen, James, and Candice. He was predeceased by his wife Alice M. (O’Hara). Obituaries Arthur S. Campbell, M.D. of Upper Saddle River died July 9. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 1950 graduate of Columbia College and interned at Seaside Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California. His residency was completed in internal medicine at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC. He continued studies with a twoyear fellowship in cardiology, followed by a final residency in psychiatry. He completed two European tours, serving as chief of psychiatry at three army hospitals in Frankfurt, Heidelberg, and Landstuhl, Germany. His army career ended as a psychiatrist to the cadets at West Point Military Academy. He became a staff psychiatrist at Valley Hospital and opened his own practice in Ridgewood, retiring in June. He is survived by his wife Astry, his children Brenda Leigh Haynes, RN of Vermont, A. Scott Campbell, M.D. of Bedminster, and Laura Victoria Campbell, RN of Colorado, and five grandchildren. Benn Wainwright Jesser of Amelia Island, Florida and Nantucket, Massachusetts, formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus, died July 13. He was 96. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in chemical engineering. He played rugby and was on the 150 pound football team. He was active in alumni affairs, fundraising, the Engineering Association, and Class of 1936 activities. He recently attended his 75th reunion and participated in the annual parade. After two years at Dupont, he returned to Princeton for his master’s degree and served on the faculty teaching chemical engineering. During WWII, he worked for M.W.
