“Flowers: The Way I See Them,” an exhibit of the photographic artistry of the late Dieter Steinmeyer, will be on display at the Waldwick Library through Aug. 31. Showcasing his two great interests, gardening and photography, the exhibit features 15 extraordinary photographs of flowers grown in Steinmeyer’s garden in Waldwick. The calla lily,

iris, and poppy are among the easily identifiable flowers in the exhibit, but others are presented in a more abstract, almost ethereal fashion. A resident of Waldwick for approximately 40 years, Steinmeyer had been active in the Ridgewood Camera Club since 1980. His numerous photography awards included those sponsored by the Photographic Society of America and the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs. An award for Best Abstract Photo was presented to Steinmeyer by

the American Society of Media Photographers. His photographs have been published in Peterson’s Photographic Magazine, Photographer’s Forum, and the German magazine Color Photo.
The library is located at 19 East Prospect Street in Waldwick. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 to 9 and Friday and Saturday from 10 to 5. For more information, call (201) 652-5104.
