After this date, a $15 late fee will be added and registrants may be placed on a waiting list. Parents are encouraged to volunteer, as their involvement is critical to the success of the programs. In addition to coaching positions, ARC is currently seeking a Kinder Soccer commissioner and a sponsor. Interested individuals may contact a board member, listed on the ARC website. Winter Book Sale set The Friends of the Allendale Library will hold a Winter Book Sale on Saturday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lobby and upstairs in the Lee Memorial Library, 500 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale. Due to the generosity of the community, donations include an abundance of new and gently used books for adults and children, CDs, and videos. Books include bestsellers, history, science fiction, education, travel, and more. Items are available at prices that start at 25 cents. The sale will include a “books by the bag” offer. Proceeds from the sale go directly to the library to purchase new books and other resources. Thrift shop holds Winter Extravaganza The Clothes Line Thrift Shop will be open on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Winter coats, except for furs, will be sold for $5 each. The shop offers gently used and some new clothing at reasonable prices, including hats, coats, shoes, boots, accessories, and baby items. Items also include linens, dishes, small furniture, and books. There is currently a large inventory of men’s clothing, suits, sweaters, and pants in sizes small to extra large. The Clothes Line Thrift Shop is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items may be donated during shop hours. The shop is located in the Archer United Methodist Church at the corner of Franklin Turnpike and East Allendale Avenue in Allendale. For more information, call (201) 327-0020. Fashion show organizers seek sponsors The Allendale Woman’s Club’s upcoming show, “Making Fashion History,” will be held on April 6. The fashion show will benefit the restoration of The John Fell House in Allendale. The evening will be held at Seasons in Washington Township, and will feature a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, gift basket prizes, and the fashion show. Casino Night set Guardian Angel Church in Allendale will host its Second Annual Casino Night on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the church auditorium. Tickets are $50 and include a catered dinner and $100 in “play money.” Casino Night is open to individuals age 21 and over. The event will also feature prize baskets and a cash prize.
