Club plans Dessert Card Party, meetings The Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus will host its annual Spring Dessert Card Party fundraiser on April 8. This event will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Waldwick United Methodist Church at 25 Franklin Turnpike, Waldwick. Homemade desserts, coffee and tea, and special prize baskets will be featured. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by calling Barbara at (201) 444-9389. On March 7, puppeteer and children’s books author, Carole Ford Dobeck will address the group at its noon meeting. The session will be held at Saint Bartholomew’s Church Hall, 70 Sheridan Avenue in Ho-
Ho-Kus. The April 4 meeting will feature Josen Cianello’s tips for growing, storing, and using herbs. Members of the public are invited to these programs. For additional information, call (201) 652-2236. The Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus is a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, organized in 1894. During WWII the NJSFWC established a committee on recreational work with the armed service forces civil defense members while serving on the New Jersey Council of National Defense. This work continues to the present day, and all member clubs of the NJSFWC are working toward helping those who are fighting cancer. The Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus is supporting Gilda’s Club in Hackensack. Redesigned website unveiled The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library in Ho-Ho-Kus has unveiled its newly redesigned website. On the site are links to the New York Times Best-Sellers List, BCCLS, the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus website, the HoHo-Kus Public School, and reference resources. There is also information on BeAT, managing borrowing from home with a valid library card, children’s programs, and new books that the library has recently acquired. Register men’s softball league Registration is underway for the HoHo-Kus/Saddle River Men’s Softball League’s spring season. Now in its 38th year, the league is modified-pitch style and plays Sunday mornings from March 27 to the end of June. The cost per player is $85. Registration deadline is March 1. Library board to meet The Ho-Ho-Kus Library Board will meet on Monday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library, 91 Warren Avenue. This meeting is open to the public. Library accepts exhibits The Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library, 91 Warren Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus, wants to hear from area residents who want to display their original artwork or interesting collections. Items may be exhibited at the library for a month. Interested individuals should contact Library Director Sandy Witkowski at (201) 445-8078. VFW welcomes new members The Ho-Ho-Kus VFW, which serves Ho-Ho-Kus and Ridgewood, welcomes new members. The group meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Post Home, 620 Cliff Street, Ho-Ho-Kus. For additional information, call (201) 445-1121. Reminder of hours at borough hall Hours of operation at Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Hall are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Due to budgetary restrictions, borough hall employees are not permitted to work overtime without special permission. Ho-Ho-Kus officials ask residents and others who conduct business at borough hall to leave enough time for staff members to carry out their requests during regular hours of operation. The police department remains open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department of public works is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays.
