Rotary seeks donations for Trivia Night The Allendale Saddle River Rotary Club is seeking prize donations for its April 2 Trivia Night Fundraiser. Donations may include gifts or gift certificates. All merchant donors will be mentioned in the program that will be distributed to attendees. The deadline for donations is March 26. Trivia Night tickets are now on sale for $35, and include dinner and trivia contests. This event will be held at the Mahwah Elks Lodge, 1 Foxwood Lane in Mahwah. A cash bar will be available. Studio tour offered to children The Allendale Woman’s Club invites local children to enjoy a guided tour of MediaMix Studios on Thursday, Feb. 24. This free tour of the production facilities is being offered to children in grades four through eight. Two tours, one at 10 and another at 11:30 a.m., will be available. Chamber to host meeting The Allendale Chamber of Commerce will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at the Allendale Bar and Grill, 67 West Allendale Avenue. Thrift shop announces Saturday event The Clothes Line Thrift Shop will be open on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. New items are arriving daily. New to the shop is a juniors’ and young men’s section. The shop has a wide variety of scarves, hats, sweaters, and men’s suits and jackets. Household and kitchen items are also available. Newcomers Club plans events The Allendale Newcomers’ Club provides a great way for new and not so new Allendale residents to meet people and get to know the borough. On Feb. 16, Helping Hands will cook up another batch of dinners at “Chicken Soup Club” night. Helping Hands helps Newcomers and their families through transition periods. Russ currently serves as an honorary board member and continues to provide valuable help and guidance. Residents of Midland Park for more than 25 years, Laurie and Russ are actively involved in all aspects of community life - especially education. Laurie has held numerous posts including: vice president of the Midland Park Education Foundation; two terms as PTA president; class mother for nearly 20 years and classroom art teacher. In addition, Laurie has served as: co-chair of the Midland Park Love Fund; producer, director and coordinator of the Midland Park Players Summer Theatre Group; manager of the Godwin and Highland schools talent shows for many years and also dance teacher at In the Spotlight in Waldwick.
