Daniel Blumenthal of Saddle River died Aug. 17. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1998, he was the owner of the Danby Palicio & Villazon Cigar Manufacturers for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife Gloria (nee Feketis), his children Germaine Link and Desiree Abboud, and three grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Gutterman and Musicant in Hackensack. Memorial donations may be made to The Daniel and Gloria Blumenthal Cancer Center at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. Jean Hanson, nee Gourlay, of Saddle River and Waldwick, died Aug. 22. She was 96. She graduated from University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in education. After coursework at the Mayo Clinic, she received certification as a qualified physical therapist from the American Registry of Physical Therapists in 1943.She served for many years on the Professional Advisory Board for Nursing Services (now known as Valley Home Care) of Paramus (formerly Ridgewood). After retiring, she taught an exercise class for seniors in Midland Park and volunteered at the Kurth Cottage Gift Shop at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where she received an award for 25 years of service and 4,000 hours. She served on her church’s altar guild and volunteered as a Girl Scout Cadet leader. She is survived by her sister-inlaw Libby Miles of Cape Cod, and her nieces and nephew Randi Long of California, Becki Whittington of Colorado, Lesli Kiple of Florida, Jeanne Marzan of Washington, and Rob Anderson of Washington, eight great nieces and nephews, five great-great nieces and nephews, and her caregiver Margarita Laforce. She was predeceased by her husband Frank. Minissale, nee Mulvanerton, of Ramsey died Aug. 22. She was 94. She was a volunteer at Valley Hospital. She is survived by her daughter Anne Squire and husband Paul of Burke, Virginia, one grandchild, and her siblings Mary Marotta, Anne Daly, and Joseph Mulvanerton, and many nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1984, he was a communication maintainer for New Jersey Transit for 42 years. He was a crossing guard in Waldwick for over 20 years. He was a member of Saint Luke’s RC Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, where he was a lector, member of the choir, Senior Lucans, Right to Life, and a past member of the Holy Name Society. He was fourth degree member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #5257 in Waldwick, and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Joseph F. Lamb Assembly in Ridgewood. He was a former member of the VFW in Matamoras, Pennsylvania, and a member of the American Legion Post 57 in Waldwick. He is survived by his wife Marion (nee Van Sickle) Mulvaney of Waldwick, his children Raymond Mulvaney of Saddle Brook and Mary Mulvaney of Waldwick, one granddaughter, one step granddaughter, one step greatgranddaughter, and his brother W. He is survived by his wife Constance, his daughter Cary Plucinsky, son-in-law Ronnie Bodnar of Mahwah, his brother Robert, a niece and nephew, and his sisters-in-law Lee Goralski of Massachusetts and Elaine Goralski of Louisiana. She is survived by her husband Anthony Premus, her children Richard and Deborah DeSocio, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was a graduate of Villanova University and the University of Houston. He was employed by Texaco, Inc. in New York and Houston, and retired in 1986. He is survived by his children Frances C. Rogers, Dr. Frederick K. Samsel, Helene M. Samsel, and Eugene J. Samsel, six grandchildren, and three greatgrandsons. He was predeceased by his wife Helen and his daughter Colette Wazlak. She is survived by her sons George (Buddy) Shepperd, and Hambleton (Tad) Shepperd, both of Wyckoff, and Michael Shepperd of Midland Park, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Fenwick C. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Florence Weber, nee Speizer, of Allendale, formerly of Wyckoff, died Aug. 18. She was 90. She is survived by her children Howard Weber of Parsippany and Pearl Mazzocchi of Franklin Lakes, three grandchildren, and her brother Leonard Speizer.
