New officers for 2011-12 year are: President Pete Simpson of Ramsey, President-elect (for 2012-13) Marcelo Gloria of Ramsey; Vice President Howard Schrieber of Ramsey, Secretary Denise Dotoli of Ramsey, Assistant Secretary Michelle McGivney of Midland Park, Treasurer Paul Scarduffa of Park Ridge, Assistant Treasurer Bettina Fowler of Ramsey, Sergeant at Arms Michael DeLeila of Ramsey, and Assistant Sergeant at Arms Howard Felderman of Ramsey. During the dinner, the club presented its annual awards. The Dr. William H. Kelly Community Service Award was presented to Barry Ervin of Upper Saddle River; President’s Awards went to Rob Parker, Tom Grissom, and Maja Britton, all of Mahwah; the Gift of Life Award was presented to Pete Simpson of Ramsey; the Walter D. Head Award went to Karen Amy and Denise Dotoli, both of Ramsey; the Paul Harris Award was presented to Tom Komninos of Upper Saddle River and Jerry Crean of Mahwah; and outgoing President Thomas Komninos of Upper Saddle River BH-R Rotary Club installs new officers at annual event Members of the Bergen Highlands Ramsey Rotary Club gathered at the Installation Dinner. The club presented a special award to Sara Kern of the Mahwah High School Interact Club for her work in creating a special fundraiser. Proceeds will be used to underwrite a “Gift of Life” child. Gift of Life brings seriously ill children from around the world to the United States for life-saving heart operations. The Bergen Highlands-Ramsey Rotary Club has been supporting educational and charitable needs in Allendale, Mahwah, Ramsey, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River since 1952.
