The goal being to help see that controlling costs, and more efficiently operating and managing the facility continue to be a priority of the board and the administration.” Raised in the Long Island community of Merrick, Buffa is a graduate of Saint Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where he received a bachelor’s degree in environmental economics. He is employed as a portfolio manager. Langevin said she is running because she believes it is a parent’s duty to advocate for their children’s education. Her son Noah is a second grader at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, and her daughter Lana will enter kindergarten there this fall. “My goal is to maximize the potential of the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School within the confines of the school budget,” Langevin said. “The early education years provide the foundation for future success in higher learning. The children of Ho-Ho-Kus deserve a school that is at its best and thus able to develop the unlimited potential of each and every child. Additionally, I would like to increase community interest in, and involvement with, the work of the board of education.” Langevin has lived in Ho-Ho-Kus for over 12 years and she was vice president of the Ho-Ho-Kus/Waldwick Nursery Co-op school board from 2007-2008, in addition to being an active volunteer at the Ho-HoKus Public School and a member of the HSA Hospitality Committee from 2007 to the present. During her tenure as vice president of the co-op, she restructured the fundraising programs, resulting in significant financial gain for the school. She has been employed by KPMG, LLP for the last 16 years, where she manages a multi-million dollar budget. “My skills in finance and accounting will be an asset to the board,” Langevin asserted. “I am a team player, and have excellent communication skills.” Langevin graduated from Waldwick High School and from Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she received a degree in accounting.
