year’s debt service tax levy totals $1,060,039. The tax rate associated with this proposed budget is 0.93 per $100 of assessed valuation. As a result, the owner of a home valued at the borough’s average assessment of $750,000 would pay $6,975 in school taxes if this budget is approved. This figure does not include taxes associated with the borough’s municipal-purpose budget or taxes that will support Bergen County’s budget. This year’s tax levy increase is 0.23 percent, or less than 0.25 of one percent over the 2010-11 budget. No personnel or programs have been added or taken away. School officials refer to the spending plan as “a maintenance budget.”
