Betty DiGruttila, nee Luther, of Stamford, Connecticut, formerly of Allendale, died Sept. 20. She was 80. She graduated from Fordham University’s School of Pharmacy in 1952. She was a registered pharmacist and, along with her husband, owned Allendale Pharmacy. She was a former president of the Allendale Board of Education, served as the president of the Bergen County School Boards Association, and was a former head of the Allendale Republican Club. She is survived by her children Carolyn Hiller of Stamford, Connecticut, Jim DiGruttila of Ramsey, and Nancy Silligman of Omaha, Nebraska, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Nick, her son Dwight, her brother Alfred E. Luther Junior, and her great-granddaughter Mia. Arrangements were made by the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Donohue, nee Strome, of Ridgewood, formerly of Hawthorne, died Sept. 22. She was 90. She graduated from Misericordia College (now University) in Dallas, Pennsylvania in 1943. She was employed as a home economist with PSE&G. After raising her children, she was a home economics teacher at Hawthorne High School and retired in 1981. She was a former parishioner of Saint Anthony R.C. Church in Hawthorne and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood. She is survived by her children Leo Donohue of Livingston, Mary Forshay of Hawthorne, Joseph Donohue of Hawthorne, Anne Donohue Folco of Mahwah, seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Donohue, her brother Rev. Robert L. Strome, and her sister Helen Chapin. Arrangements were made by Browning Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Leonard M. Goldfarb D.D.S. of Ridgewood died Sept. 13. He was 81. He practiced dentistry for 45 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from City College of New York, and was a graduate of Columbia University Dental School. He was a member of the New Jersey Dental Association, and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He is survived by his wife Elaine (nee Harrison) Goldfarb, his children Marc E. Goldfarb and Andrea G. Germano, five grandchildren, and his brother Warren Goldfarb. Arrangements were made by Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn. Kaitlin Joyce of Waldwick died Sept. 20. She was 16. He is survived by his wife Doris (nee Kievit), his children William Munster of Ramsey and Joanne Krupinski and Kelly Munster, both of Mahwah. Pontier Jr. of Jackson, Louisiana, formerly of Wyckoff and Goshen, New York, died Sept. 20. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1986, he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years. He was the proprietor of Featherland Farms in Wyckoff. He was a member of the Goshen Christian Reformed Church and a former member of the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff where he served as elder. He is survived by his children Ruth Husselman of Kennesaw, Georgia, Lorraine White of Monterey, Virginia, Virginia Kuilema of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Bruce Pontier of Lacombe, Louisiana, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret, his second wife Jeanette, and his brother Rev. Arthur Pontier. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Marion F. Ravensbergen, nee Weber, of Waldwick, formerly of Maywood and Dumont, died Sept. 19. She was a founder of the Dumont Swim Club and served as its first president. She was a charter member and active in all phases of her church since 1958. She is survived by her children Michael, Neil, and Karen Carty, and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelis. Arrangements were made by Frech Funeral Home in Dumont. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or Parkinson’s disease in her memory. George Saterson of Ridgewood died Sept. 20. He was 86. He was a U.S. Navy Air Corps veteran. In 1948, he received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from City College in New York. He spent 17 years working for U.S. Gypsum in various positions including plant and management positions in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Texas, and Georgia. He joined Litton Industries in 1967 as vice president of manufacturing for Kimball Systems in New Jersey and was later promoted to president. He served as presi-

dent of Sweda and became a Litton corporate vice president in 1977. He was the chief operating officer of Docutel, an early ATM business, in Dallas, Texas, and president of several businesses in Irvine and Santa Clara, California from 1983 until his retirement from Dastek in the late 1990s. He is survived by his wife Athena Saterson of Ridgewood, his children Constantine of San Diego, California, George of Brooklyn, New York, Kathryn of Durham, North Carolina, Chrysanthe of San Jose, California, and Anastasia of New York, New York, and three grandchildren. Bernard John “B.J.” Steinke of Saddle River died Sept. 15. He was 94. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Saint Cecilia High School in Englewood. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from New York University in 1942 and was involved in graduate studies there until 1945. He was also a member of the honor society Pi Tau Sigma. He had been a design engineer for the U.S. Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York and a marine engineer for George G. Sharp naval architects in New York City. He later worked for the U.S. Rubber Company in Naugatuck, Connecticut (1945-48) and the contractor B.H. Steinke, Inc. in Englewood. In 1950, he became a founding partner of Dwight Engineering Associates, an electrical and mechanical engineering firm in Englewood and later Woodcliff Lake. He is survived by his children Bernard “B.P.,” Thomas, Sheila, Linda, Maria, Colette, Peter, and Andrew, 21 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian May (nee Schroeder), and his son Jerome. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Salvatore Venti of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Wyckoff, died Sept. 18. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He studied art at the Commercial Illustration Studio Art School and Pratt Institute and then embarked on a 40-year career in advertising. Initially, he was employed as an art director at Parents magazine. He then owned his own graphic design studio for 12 years, followed by 26 years working for top New York advertising agencies. He retired in 1987. He is survived by his wife Anita (Tammy), his children Linda Camille Venti of Lexington, Massachusetts, Steven of Hanover, New Hampshire, Michael of Liverpool, New York, and Lisa Overholts of Zionsville, Pennsylvania, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Anna Parinello of Leesburg, Florida, and Lucy Cottone of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his step-brother Frank Ventimiglia of Oxnard, California. He was predeceased by his first wife Eleanor Camille. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Memorial donations may be made to the James A.
