Tickets are $75 and include a cocktail hour, dinner, and a premium open bar. The event will feature door prizes, a
cash prize contest, and more. Entertainment will be provided by local band Hawk, which includes members of Ridgewood’s “Dad’s Night Band.” To purchase tickets, stop by the front desk of the police department at 131 North Maple Avenue, e-mail ridgewoodpba@gmail.com, or call (201) 638-2946. Kuhn exhibits at Stable Art Gallery Marianne Valenti Kuhn will exhibit her “American Landscape” painting throughout the month of October at the Stable Art Gallery at 259 North Maple Avenue. Kuhn’s purpose is to create an appreciation of the beauty of nature on canvas, using color, tone, and composition. Her goal is to achieve a simplification and sense of place rather than an exact copy of the scene. Her most important considerations are atmosphere and dramatic flow of light. Capturing those elements with consistency is the core of her artistic approach. Kuhn’s work has received awards from juried shows. She is affiliated with The Ridgewood Art Institute, The Hudson Valley Art Association, and The American Artists Professional League. An Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The Stable Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. The service will be at the outside altar, by the entrance to the Nursery School on Franklin Avenue. In the event of rain, the service will take place inside the church. Refreshments will be provided. ‘Green Kids’ workshops set Ridgewood Parks and Recreation and volunteers of the Women Gardeners of Ridgewood are offering an opportunity for village youth in grades three through five to

A member of the North East New Jersey Beekeepers Association will explain the importance of pollination for fruits, vegetables, and flowers on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. On Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, the Lorrimer Sanctuary Director Patrick Scheuer will lead an outdoor trek and explain how birds, mammals, insects, and plants survive the winter. On April 10, the group will learn how to compost with worms, create “nesting bags” for birds, and transplant seedlings in the garden.
