The talk will be held at Christ Church, 105 Cottage Place in Ridgewood, at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. The IAUC is a human rights organization working for peace with justice in a reunited Ireland. Landscaper sponsors Clothing Drive Borst Landscape & Design will hold its annual Clothing Drive through Oct. 21 at Borst headquarters, 260 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale. Area residents are asked to bring new or gently-used clothing for men, women, and children, including outerwear, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Donations may be left in the truck that will be parked outside the office. The donations will benefit patrons of the Star of Hope Thrift Shop in Paterson and those served by Solid Foundation, a Midland Park skateboarding club that organizes charitable community projects in the area and makes regular visits to New York City to distribute coats, blankets, and food. Support offered to stroke victims Stroke victims are invited to join the Ridgewood Post Stroke and Disabled Adult Support Group which meets on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Ridgewood Village Hall, 131 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood. The program provides support to stroke survivors and their families, and for any person with a disability. Some activities offered are chair exercise, memory games, and special guest speakers on a variety of topics. Molly Pitcher interpreter to speak Guest Speaker Stacy Roth will present “Over Here, Molly Pitcher” at the Oct. 12 luncheon of The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood. The program will be held at 215 West Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood. Roth will offer a program of interpretive storytelling highlighting the lives of women who “belonged to the army” during the American Revolution. As Molly, Roth reminisces about the days when she accompanied her husband through summer battles and winter encampments from Valley Forge to Monmouth to Morristown. She provides a glimpse into what it was like to be a camp follower in the days when American Independence was a dream rather than a certainty. This program is sponsored by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, which is a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. League to host debates The League of Women Voters of Bergen County will sponsor a series of debates for state senate and assembly candidates in District 39, and Bergen County freeholders, clerk, and surrogate on the following dates: Oct. 17, District 39 candidates for state senate and assembly; Oct. 25, candidates for Bergen County Surrogate and Bergen County Clerk; and Nov. 1, Bergen County Freeholders. The debates will begin at 1 p.m. in the Moses Family and Training Center, Tech Building 128 of Bergen Community College, Parking Lot B in Paramus. Thrift shop offers Saturday hours The Clothes Line Thrift Shop, located at Archer United Methodist Church at 37 East Allendale Avenue in Allendale, has announced its fall hours. Children’s concert to feature Suzi Shelton The Valley Hospital Auxiliary will present its first children’s music concert featuring the award-winning Suzi Shelton and her band on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. The show will be held in the Ramapo High School auditorium located at 331 George Street in Franklin Lakes. The Brooklyn-based songstress, who has been called the “children’s rock goddess,” has performed at the Lincoln Center Tree Lighting, Tribeca Film Festival, and the White House Easter Egg Roll.
