Registration for Glen Rock residents will be held Dec. 6 beginning at 9 a.m. Open registration for residents of all communities will begin Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. Mom & Tot classes for toddlers (18 through 30 months) are designed to encourage speech, motor, social, and emotional skills. The Terrific for Tots class for children who are two-and-a-half offers a warm, nurturing environment for the child’s early school experiences. Children have the opportunity to explore arts and crafts, music, educational games, perceptual motor activities, and listening activities. The age requirement for all classes is as of April 1, 2012. Mom & Tot classes are offered on Mondays or Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. beginning the week of Jan. 30. Terrific for Tots will meet Thursdays and Fridays from 9:15 to11:15 a.m. beginning Jan. 26. Registration will be held at the Glen Rock Community School office, 600 Harristown Road, in the lobby of Glen Rock High School. Proof of residency for Glen Rock priority registrants and a copy of the child’s birth certificate or passport are required at registration. Registration open ‘Christmas in Toyland’ returns Group discusses ‘Gilead’ Glen Rock Library’s “Tea at Two Book Club” will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 13 to discuss Marilynne Robinson’s “Gilead.” The group meets from 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the library, 315 Rock Road. Books are available at the circulation desk. No registration is required. The Glen Rock Community School after school dance program will present the Unicorne Dance Ensemble in “Christmas in Toyland.” The ensemble is under the direction of Denise Piccino. Performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Glen Rock High School Auditorium at 600 Harristown Road, Glen Rock. The colorful production includes Santa, his elves, and his reindeer, Mother Goose characters, an evil villain, and a love story. The cast, whose members range in age from four to 89, perform to seasonal musical favorites. Cast members include Christine Yarish of Oakland as Mary Contrary, Ariel Woll of Glen Rock as Bo Peep, and Genevieve Vaughn of Waldwick as Mother Goose. Natalie Francesco of Ridgewood will portray a certain well-known reindeer, and Rodger Yaden of Hawthorne will reprise his role of Santa Claus. All tickets are $15 and will be available at the door.
