The Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus will present its annual Holiday Concert on Dec. 17 and 18 at the United Methodist Church of Ridgewood. Classics, seasonal tunes, Broadway melodies, and male chorus favorites are on the program which will also feature trumpeter and guest artist Rick Henly of Oradell. Henly will accompany the chorus on “Blow Gabriel” from the Tony Awardwinning Broadway hit “Anything Goes.” He has served on the musical faculties of the American Conservatory of Music, Elmhurst College, and Northwestern University. Ron Levy, a renowned solo pianist who has performed with many singers and instrumental groups, is the pianist for the chorus. Levy has premiered works by several composers. He lectures and writes on musical subjects, and is part of the Palisades Virtuosi, a well-known trio that commissions and performs works for piano, flute, and clarinet.

The George Washington Middle School Home & School Association gave the school $3,152 to purchase materials for the school library. The Hawes Parents gave the school $1,650 for school field trip expenses.

The Ridgewood High School TV Club gave Ridgewood High School a Sony microphone valued at $94. The Ridgewood Board of Education also approved increases amounting to $10,607 in change orders for construction on the Ridge School, bringing the total cost of construction to $3,275,851. The school, however, received $5,000 in credit for playground support poles that were re-used instead of being replaced. J. KOSTER
